Sore Thumbs Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Try getting one or two megabass. You won't regret it. When water is less than 60 degrees with a little wind try it out.

That said, I have five jerk bait boxes containing well over 100 baits. Yes, I have a terminal case of jerk bait fever. Hope this helps ... Thank God you posted this Champ! Gavin Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 No confidence in the RC STX it is not a substitute.
*T* Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 RC STX baits are very erratic In sink / suspend rates. Some will float regardless of how much you weight them down. I'm done with them. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci
dan hufferd Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I know that they are on the cheaper end, but berkley has some great colors. Then the shadow rap with the bigger bill.
jim m Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 ok guys were all forgeting one important thing, if the bait doesn,t say kvd on it, it aint gonna catch nothing Champ188, snagged in outlet 3, Sore Thumbs and 1 other 4
Sprint21fter Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 One color for clear water: Ghost Minnow. Stained water:. Something with chartreuse/orange belly.
Gavin Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Don't fish any with an orange belly. Usually go with a Slender Pointer...all sizes are good. Vision 110 or 110 JR, both good. Pointer 100 or 78, both good. Duo Reallis makes some good ones too. Have a ton of baits, maybe 6-10 deep in the ones I go too most often in JDM colors. It isn't cheap....but you won't want cheap after you fish the good stuff. Had buddies who doubted for years. Now on the program and catching better fish.
abkeenan Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 All good recs on both baits and colors. I have about every color SPRO makes, as they are my go to jerk. I have 3 "projects" to test out here shortly when I make it down in a few weeks. A new bait that will require tinkering, a new custom paint and a workshop/operating table Frankenstein where drills, 00 buckshot pellets and epoxy were required. Should be interesting. That is IF the fish aren't already spawned out and on their summer pattern already with these warm temps. GOOD GRIEF! mixermarkb, Sore Thumbs, magicwormman and 1 other 4

When the megabass ito vision 110 first came out, I was fortunate to get my hands on a few of the pro blue and deadly blacks for around $25 each. Somehow a derby fisherman from about 100 miles away heard about them and drove down here and bought all I had at $75 each. That motivated me to reinvest and purchase more over the years and I still have several made in 2000 and 2001. Most of you guys know what they are selling for on Ebay. It's almost as crazy as the pre-Rapala warts these days. I bought 120 warts and drove 140 miles round trip to pick them up about 6 years ago. I paid $650. for them and my wife thought I was insane. Most were pre-Rapala and I got my money back plus in a matter of a few weeks. Now, if I can only convince her that the rest of my sickness is a investment. abkeenan, Sore Thumbs and MOsmallies 3
