I think it will be a two horse race between Randy Sullivan and Mile Mcclelland. It's going to be hard to catch them the way the Rock is fishing at the moment. I don't believe the Rock is going to give up any 20 lb sacks today. Top weight today will be 18 lbs for McClelland. Mike Jones wins co-angler with 8.3 lbs (Go Mike and Mike)

Too many folks just won't slow down and put 20' or more under the boat. Oh well.

So a good rule of thumb at TR would be cast to the depth/spot that your boat is usually sitting when pounding the bank at LOZ?

Brent Ehler won this time of year a few years ago throwing a grub in Owl Creek. I remember him talking about soaking them to change the color to a more milky white. It's funny how the grub is making a resurgence. Admittedly I have quit using it the last few years. I was at Hook,Line and Sinker the other day and there were a lot of jig heads and grubs being bought. Funny how fast word gets out. Hope the Mike and Mike guys finish on top.

Bo, you did really good with those boys and should be proud of that.  Trouble is both of them backed up on weight yesterday and it is hard with everyone catching about the same bags to make that kind of a jump Betrand made it thanks to Joe Long, and he is a better contender I think than your guys.   You can catch all the 15 inch fish you want, but like I said yesterday, you have to weigh in K's and your toast.

Fantastic job Bo to put both of those fisherman in the top 12 and a last day start.  Someone should talk to them and it would make a great story for OZA.

Thank you James, it would be a great story of two guy that are not familiar with our lake and one of our own helped put them in contention for a Central Open.  That's the kind of stuff folks come here to read.  We don't need to know any of Bo's spots, but the human interest side of this for us would be really special.

Thanks for considering it.

the bigger bass are in there, but it is one of those things that the bigger ones will be positioned differently on different days, and you have to spend some time to figure that part out.  these fish are moving every day to some extent, and they have at least made those adjustments.

this has been a situation of all sizes of bass are using one gigantic food source.  at this point, i would also agree that is would be improbable to catch up.  got to give mikie some credit here also.  he took ted and i a took drew and we fished around together.  actually on sat. we got them both on good sacks fishing for suspended fish in the cambell point area, but they were both pretty lost at doing this.  so, on sunday, we changed lanes and went to this huge bunch of fish that could be caught shallow, with them both being texans, it fit their fishing style better.

on another note, i would like to ask everyone to keep mike sowders in their prayers.  most will not know mike, but bill sure does.  he is dealing with some health issues that should have been fixed 3 years ago.  he is finally going to see a surgeon monday.  he needs lots of prayers to get fixed up and back to better health.

one other thing that i will add about fishing right now, and it applies to both deep fish and shallow fish, and that is to find where the shad are concentrated.  i feel that right now most of the bass are still relating to shad.  however, when the water warms enough the bass seem to change diet for about a month and gorge up on crawdads to get ready for spawning.  i will leave this one other clue, with a question.  why is it that nothing mud flats and banks never appeal to most anglers.  think about that one for a bit, and comment your answers, and see if anyone knows why mud should be part of the equation not only early in the spring, but also early in the fall.

It makes sense to me Bo. Crawdads love mud! They burrow in it.  Most anglers(myself included) have ingrained thought that bass love hard bottom come spring for bedding purposes. If you found hard bottom adjacent to mud flat that would be a money spot. Thanks for the info
