Ned has been my go to bait the last few days (besides the Keitech) but I have a question regarding the Ned.

When I use it, it does not seem to matter which color I use or at least I can't figure which one to start with so I generally start with the one that is tied on and use it until I break off or it gets worn out and then try a different one.

So the question - Which color do you guys start with given a set of conditions or otherwise which color goes with which condition - water color, temperature, time of year, water clarity, etc.

PS - Caught 4 keepers in 30 minutes half way back in a cove off North Indian tonight on the orange/green pumpkin Ned although I was really wanting to use the swim bait.

Dirt, then PB&J, but some days I might start with PB&J.  Gut feel kind of thing, I can't explain it.  I did glue up a few green pumpkin/orange the other day on 1/16th oz heads, having seen some bluegills shallow thought orange may look bluegillish to a bass.

PBJ until they don't eat it, or stop eating it. Then dark day = opaque green, bright day = transparent greens.

I do whatever this guy says to do.

Guess you could say I'm a "follower" but he's spent enough time figuring this deal out that I don't see much sense in wasting a bunch of mine trying to do the same thing.

Plus, I reside in his "hood" so you might say it's in my personal best interest to avoid all semblance of conflict!

Just about the exact pattern I use.  It seems if you get up the White or into some stained water they will go head over tail for that GP/Orange.  Really I'm only a 3 color guy and perhaps that may be enough.

When you put on your thinking cap and review the colors for the Rock or any of the White River Chain, on slow movers you are going to use GP-Watermellon seed, WM candy or the PBJ.  Pretty much the go to colors for finesses stuff jigs and craws.  At times you can get into stained water for blacks, reds and blues, but day in and day out its the naturals.
