rangerman Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 There is still a population that outright buys them I suppose. My pops does every couple of years. The one Cabelas had I don't believe had the kicker tied into the main motor or the full enclosure top, oooorrrr the primo lowrance package. With that it would have / list of about 93-94,000 freakin crazy!! ??
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 You guys must be hard up, the boys on BBC (at least the ones who arent banned) buy those in cash......If i had the means i still dont think i could pony up for a new boat, just seems like such a loss after a year. Illl stick with my beat up tracker until the sleep study business gets better. Hint Hint If you sleep like poo give me a shout bassfisher, Deadstream and grizwilson 3
Deadstream Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I'm gonna buy a used 17ft V bottom with nothing for about 1200.00 this spring. They are a dime a dozen. Fish the heck out of it and sell or give it away this fall. It works for me . I can't justify the expense , storage or state title problems to haul them back and forth. New boats and new cars are a waste of my money. I am 55ish and semi retired, want to stay that way.
fishinwrench Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 A Sleep Study discussion sounds like an excellent way to hijack this thread. What are some of the more common problems, and what can be done to cure them? If you had a 80k bass boat in your driveway you might not sleep very good. I'd be afraid that a junebug might fly into it and make a poop smudge, probably wake up in a cold sweat, and run out there in my underwear with a damp chamois every hour and a half. grizwilson, aarchdale@coresleep.com, mixermarkb and 4 others 7

Thanks. I'm not the only one.

That 1200.00 rig is gonna need a water pump, a carb job, and some gearcase seals at the very least. Wheel bearings and trailer tires too. Couple of batteries. Gotta have some sonar. I get some real "steals" brought in here from time to time, but by the time it's dependable enough to get out of sight of the boat ramp..... Usually the investment is about 5k. mixermarkb, rangerman and Deadstream 3
Deadstream Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Wrench. I will buy a 17ft v and will stick my 9.9 on it. Don't need any electronics, the wheel bearings and tires are not required since I won't haul it. But I can cover that if I want to. Pontoons 21fters are 1500.00. Motor might work. We haul them to Canada several times a year. Not arguing, just taking advantage of opportunities.
fishinwrench Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Yeah it can be done, sho-nuff. Last Fall I put this rig together, including trailer, tax and licensing for under 1300.00 But this is a thread about bass boats, and from what I can tell by messing with them nearly every day for 30+ years, is the guys that get the best bang for their buck are the ones with a budget of 5-7k. A 10-15k bass boat won't do anything that a 7k bass boat can't do. Deadstream and mixermarkb 2

It is worth much more now but 88 for a fishing boat? What bank loans that kind of money? I might want to talk to them. That banker has a great sense of humor and I appreciate that. I dunno but I got 4.67% from US Bank on my 2016 Z521c last March. Probably the most easily obtained loan I've ever taken out. Did the entire thing online on a Sunday morning. The following Tuesday I got an email confirmation of approval, stopped by the local branch that afternoon and signed the papers and they forwarded a check to Cablela's. Picked up my boat the next day. Up to 15 years if I wanted. Must not be too big a deal! Champ188 1 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." 176champion Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I paid 1300 for my 1989 17'6" champion boat motor and trailer and i have put probably 2,000 in it, it's not the fanciest or prettiest or the fastest boat out there but it works and the best part it's paid for.....lol Wart 57, Deadstream, mixermarkb and 2 others 5 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything!
