Ned Rig refinements

If you don't use dtrs5kprs' heads and do use the Zman Shroomz the little wire bait keeper is useless and just fouls the bait.  I take a pair of needle nose and break that thing off all my hooks and use superglue to hold it to the head.  The elaztec just doesn't play well with those keepers.

If you don't feel like messing with the super glue (or you realize you're only bottle dried up on the water), the Swingoil NED Headz work well. We caught over 50 smallmouth one day last year using those heads and a PBJ ZinkerZ and they held the baits in place very well. They are also 60 cents each instead of a buck like the Zman heads. Super glue is the way to go though if you have it.

Last year green craw was the ticket but I’ve had to drive into BPS and sort through a dozen bags to find a bag made right mail order won’t cut it they have poor quality control on that color. I started this topic to let folks know not to waste their money on the pre cut turds the best heads are made by Drt5keepers but I didn’t want to bother him with a jig order....anybody else having trouble posting pics?

Email the picture to yourself and when it prompts you for a size chose the smallest.  Then you will be able to post it

Probably pic size. I had to add a photo resizer app to my phone last year to work around it.

Truth is, I have some kind of mental block about PBJ Ned rigs. There are half a dozen colors that I like better. On the other hand, brown/purple is my go-to color in a football jig. 

Yes, it’s a mess inside my head.

PB and J is not a good color for me very often. I have had some success in clear water on cloudy days.

other colors are much more consistently productive for me. I like them better because they catch fish better for me,
