bobby b. Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Went out at 6:30 again this morning to fish a bit before Church. The fog was worst than it has been the last few days. It got worst at about 7:30 to the point that I could not see my dock although I felt I was only 10 yards from it. I use the gps/locator to find it and fished top water (plopper) around the dock. Caught a few but was hoping to go out to the main lake but it was still way too foggy. I decided to just motor that way really slow (2 mph) and just watch the locator to see if I could note any new structure. I came across a bass boat and wondered how he got there as I know everyone in the area so I assumed he put in at Indian Point. My dock is at the north end of North Indian - that's 4 miles from Indian Point. So I'm going 2 mph heading south in North Indian listening to the the news and watching the locator and gps to make sure I stay in the middle - still in some skinny water knowing that if anyone else would be out there it would be a fisherman either going slow or not moving. All of a sudden I see a boat heading straight for me on plane. I turn hard left and he turns hard left - it was a wake boat pulling a wakeboarder - as the two boat veered away from each other the wakeboarder stuck out his hand to give me five - we almost connected - the look on his face was Oh Yeah. You can't make this stuff up. Sore Thumbs, merc1997 Bo, tho1mas and 1 other 4
m&m Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 bobby b, that is just too scary. I would liked to have the gas concession on the lake yesterday. We were out with another couple in their pontoon. We put in at moonshine ramp and went south to cricket creek. Nice leasurely boat ride never going more than 15 mph. I cannot tell you how many boats I saw pass us going south then come back going north. I did notice one blue runabout with a blue Bimini top pass us not once, not twice, not three times but 4 times. Twice in each direction. And he was pushing water creating a heck of a wake. They were not millennials either. They were in their 50’s and 60’s. Indianapolis speedway has nothing on what I saw on Table Rock yesterday. Glad you guessed correctly on the way you turned your boat to avoid the collision. Can’t hardly wait until Tuesday and the lake calms down. With the heat that is coming, I might head over to bull creek on taneycomo and fish for bass in the cooler water. Mike
Bill Babler Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 If you will remember I had the exact post out of Shell Knob a couple of years ago. 5:45 wake boarding in the simi-dark and fog. Just simply stupid with a capitol S. magicwormman 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
MOPanfisher Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 People who are normal thinking individuals go to the lake and bring everything but their common sense. I have talked to a lot of them over the years and explained why what they were doing was dangerous and bordering on stupid / criminal. It's like a light switch goes on in their brain sometimes and they suddenly realize what they have done. Sadly some people lack that switch.
fshndoug Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I avoid all the big lakes on all warm weather Holidays. That way I am not tempted at thinning out the gene pool Champ188 and eyedabassman 1 1

eyedabassman Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Last night there where two cop boats waiting in the cove by point 5 . And they busted 3 jet skis for running after dark, and some others for speeding after dark! I could hear some of the talking from the cop from my deck! And one jet ski had 2 adults and one small kid and doing circles at high speed! Not smart and the cop thought so too! He towed them to there dock! Seth Clarkson and Quillback 2
