I keep fish often, and will say it on a public forum, that i later release because i didnt catch enough that i wanted to take the time to clean the few i had. Pretty sure if i was a betting man, that every soul that reads this comment has done so, that has any amount of years on the water. No harm no foul comes to mind. Never heard of a law saying i couldnt return a legal fish i kept in my livewell, back into the same body of water. If there is such a law, whos the buttwipe that came up with that crock of pig slop?

The only rule that requires you keep a legal caught fish is spoonbill snagging, unless that has changed.  Otherwise as long as it is a legal fish, taken in a legal manner then you can haul it around the lake all you want and decide to keep, release or give to someone else.  Those fish still technically count toward your daily limit but since you are quitting for the day that doesn't really apply.  At least that is how I read the rules.

'3 CSR 10-6.505 Black Bass' is not applicable to the question, a better reference would be 3 CSR 10-6.405(3)(A) &(3)(E)

No where in the code does it say I can legally haul fish around and dump them except as part of a bona fide fishing tournament. The code has been described as permissive in that it tells us what we may do more than what we may not do and in that case if it does not specify that I may haul fish and dump fish then it is not permitted. The gist of "released unharmed immediately after being caught" is that any release is done right now.  Section (3)(E) addresses tournaments.

But like I said I much don't care what you do on your lake. So, carry on. This may an area where the code just don't count or it may be an area where the agents don't care either.

Careful Bo, this will get those anti-tourney guys stirred up running fish around and then relocating.

Nah, Bo actually cares about the fish beyond them being disposable poker chips in a money game.

you certainly come to a different conclusion of the english language than the rest of us.  it clearly states that when you do put a legal bass in the livewell, it is then counted as part of your legal daily  possession.  you are free to do with those bass as you please, which would include to release them somewhere else.  the best thing for you to do is contact the mdc and see if they will clarify the rule to you in a better way than i seem to be able to do.

Thats funny.  So hauling fish around and then releasing can be done in a more careful manner by Bo than all tourney anglers. Thats laughable.

You better believe he takes better care of them than a LOT of tournament anglers.

Time and time again I’ve seen you CLUB AND JACKPOT guys walk down to the edge of the lake at Mill Creek or Ahoys after weigh-in and literally THROW your fish out into that boiling hot, deoxygenated water and turn around and walk away, then act like someone is crazy when they say there were dead fish floating at the ramp.

If you deny that happens, you’re at the heart of the problem.

well, you can ask around and those that have fished against me many will tell you that our bass were always just as alive as when they were caught.  it is all in proper water temp. continual aeration, and adding something such as rejuvinate to the livewell water.  also, air stones made a really big, big difference.  another big difference is the fact that i fish plastics on one of my jig heads, and never gut hook a bass as is done by t-rigging, especially those that wait forever before setting the hook.

if there was any question of these bass not making it during transportation, we certainly would not even attempt such an effort as it would be a waste all around.
