In my neighborhood only your first bike could be a sportster and you still risked ridicule unless you were a youngster.

Yeah at age 22 a Sportster was my one and only street bike.  After a few deer and dog scares, and a face full of hornet impact scars I decided that road trippin' on a bike was not for me.  Longest trip was from Atlanta to Daytona and back.  Never again!   I don't know how guys do it.

I had saved up a few thousand for my first at 19.  My buddy got “merged” To the shoulder on the rock road and hit the back of a tow truck.  The old ones with cables.  I saw him in the hospital and bought my first truck.

There is a reason I don’t own a motorcycle. Heck I’m dangerous enough in something with 4 wheels.

It’s not me it’s them.  Either way I never bought a road bike. Plenty of dirt bikes 3 and 4 wheelers.  I’d buy a side by side but my wife won’t let it take her spot in the garage😆
