Without speaking even to anything else, Mr. Dablemont's lack of understanding of the conservation utility of timber harvest is striking. Because we don't allow big, tree killing wildfires to burn anymore, and many forests were high-graded/poorly managed before being acquired by the MDC, selective harvest is most often required to get the forest to a state that works for anyone.

Without any harvest, most Missouri oak forests would become sugar maple forests over time. You lose a mast tree that benefits wildlife for a dominant species that mostly doesn't. You can already see it happening on most privately owned forests in the state. If you are a deer/turkey/squirrel hunter, bad news.

Being an outdoor writer, I've had my exposure to Larry quite a bit over the years. He has his cult following of conspiracy theorists, libertarians, and MDC-haters. Most people dismiss his vindictive nature and inaccurate "stories." I don't agree with anything he writes or says. Never have. He offered me an autograph one time and I laughed. However, I do think it's beneficial to have somebody constantly questioning our state government. A necessary gadfly, to use a Socratic comparison (Socrates, he is not). Even if it's always wrong, it probably keeps them on their toes a bit, knowing Larry is lurking in the shadows.

I don’t know who Larry is but, if the MDC is shooting hogs on Jonny’s land for free??? Well that is lame. As Wrench said nobody knows it’s just a claim so I just leave it at that. I hear and see claims of fish being a certain size on here and I deal with it the same way..... yeah okay sure and move on.

The MDC doesn't give two craps about LD. He does not keep them on their toes. They are professionals and do their jobs  diligently and with the utmost integrity.

The MDC will never acknowledge LD.  to do so would give him legitimacy.  And there is nothing legitimate about him.

He's met with Sara twice this year so that's inaccurate. I'm not defending him. Just telling you facts.

 Yeah according to him.

He has a way of paining what he does in life much like Al paints those beautiful portraits. But there's a lot more truth to Al's portraits.

But I'm quite positive I could call up say I'm a reporter and get a 10 minute meeting with her also.  He likes to play up all of these meetings and such.  It's not really much more than any average citizen could do if  they chose to.

And also notice when he plays up these so-called meetings that he has and how he is going to ask this and that,  you never get the results.  He just keeps on and keeps on and keeps on.

So ask him the next time you see him why is he not shared the information on these meetings?  I mean he played up the whole purpose of these meetings to get answers.

But then we never hear those answers from him.

There are a lot of  outdoor writers in this state.  Yet he is the only one that writes the crap that he writes.  Why is that?
