oneshot Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Use to know a Guy over on Linley Arm catch a bunch and would kill every one.. oneshot
MoCarp Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 one of the best muskie lures I ever used was a #5 mepps, the treble isn't big enough but its easy replaced with a 3/0-5/0 full dressed bucktail replacement treble, it will crawl slow with the blade at full spin and will be amazingly snagfree (very full tied) if you drop down from the treble to a 2/0 and go to black blade/black hair its a killer on big brown trout, I suggest pinching down the barbs a bit and its a little less hard on the browns (touch up with a rat tail file) the trick of why this works is it moves slower because of the drag, leave the spinning gear home on this, 6500c-20# test and 7-8 foot flipping stick for 'skis and 6 foot med/hvy and good caster and 12# test with a 4 foot fluro leader for browns as a bonus you will land some dandy bows, Daryk Campbell Sr 1 MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Gavin Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Pike species & small mouth absolutely hate a Mann's 1-...Great shallow bait. Big, Mid, and Baby....$6 bucks a pop. Will pull some fish when looking up, but hesitant on topwater.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 As a teenager my parents sent me to be a dock boy up on leech lake for a couple summers. After getting the clients boats loaded in the morning we could fish all day. Caught em till we got tired of them. Locals used big minnows drifted with the wind. Works like crazy Johnsfolly 1

oneshot Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 This guy was taking a knife and cutting through the gills, said he had done it for years the same reason this other guy did. And yes I have caught other fish they have tried to catch but I never have intentionally killed any. But if people know Pomme de Terre Lake they know they are fairly easy to catch. oneshot

oneshot Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 At Pomme de Terre if you see a school of Shad coming through lots of times it is Bass but Muskie will to feed on the Shad. I use a Beetle Spin and catch either pretty fast. Thing with Muskie I'll take time and tie a Steal Leader on but like I say easy to catch if a person watches. I usually don't fish for Muskie on purpose but they are fun when hooked. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Harps Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Killing one fish because it eats another fish is the stupidest reason to kill a fish. I've already had one guy out at Fellows tell me he throws all of the Muskie he catches up on the bank because they "eat HIS bass." He best not let me see him do it. HIS bass are eating MY crappie. Sounds stupid doesn't it?
