Sounds like your boat would work fine, as far as I know there aren't any HP restrictions.  There's power at the lodge, might need a long extension cord.

We'll get a food thread going in a bit, as far as who is bringing what for food items.

Are you familiar with the chain dragging deal on the White to slow your boats drift down?

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure ill be going and should have an open spot on the boat for anyone.  I have heard about chain dragging but i am not familiar.  Do you have any links for reference?

Pencil me in for Thursday to Sunday.  I would prefer to stay at the lodge. A lot has to happen for me to get there. I know that there will be a food thread coming. Since I will be flying in so it may be tough to be bringing food from Maryland. But am willing to help prep and cook as needed. May be sous chef for some goose fajitas😁.

There is a pretty good thread on the chain thing somewhere on the forum.  It might be in the tips and tricks section.  I looked around a bit but could not find it.  I believe OAF member 'Ham' was the author.

Drag chain is simple.  The primary function of the drag chain is to keep the boat from spinning while drifting.  About 3 feet of log chain.  Rope and chain together about a foot shorter than what can get into the prop.  A bicycle innertube in the rope and chain set up to act as a shock absorber is also helpful as is a boat fender  to act as a float if the chain hangs up and is separated from the boat.  Either a lighter breakaway where you connect to the bow eye or store a knife handy just in case.  You do not want to sink your boat if the chain gets hung while you are in heavy current.

A drag chain makes noise to alert fish you are coming and then can get caught in the rocks and jerk you to a stop.

Drag chains are stupid in a rocky and flowing stream with varied river levels.

Go ahead though. I know nothing.

After reading Ham's thread  he stated if you have a trolling motor you don't need the chain.  I have a trolling motor so if i am able to make it for the trip ill just use that.

OK, looks like the weekend of December 8th is the one that works best.  Will plan on renting a lodge or two starting Thursday night the 6th through Saturday night the 8th.

So who is coming and who needs lodging?  Need to get that figured out fairly quickly so we can make reservations at Riley's.

Count me and one other in for lodging at Rileys. Will arrive Thursday night and will stay all weekend leaving Sunday.

Ok, here is what I have so far as attendance and needing lodging:

Myself

Terrierman +1

JestersHK and Fmcbrandon and possibly one other

BH

Mreed81andbuddy

JF

ZigJigMan

Brett

Ham (staying at home).

That gives us 13 for lodging, I am assuming Les will show.  I am going to PM Phil and see if he and Duane are coming.
