Question about Nanofil

Really casts good, just tie knots carefully and retie often. I use 8 on my Crappie rods and have 14 on a couple of other rigs. I've only ever tried it on spinning reels.

I love Nanofil, casts great, knots are critical.  I think I finally got my skills down to where I can tie on a mono leader without it slipping.  I no longer use mono for anything except leaders.

I believe they say to use a Palomar on the packaging, although there is a knot called the Nanofil knot which just looks like a double Palomar.

Maybe I should try Nanofil again tried it a few years ago and thought it was way too stiff and didn't like it. I prefer braid with flourocarbon leader.

You just confused me. Why if it casts great, would only use it for leader?

          Made sense to me tjm, might be how you are reading it.    Nanofil casts great  ,    he does not use mono for anything except leaders.   When I use spinning gear I do the same.  As Snagged asked what knot do you use? There was a discussion about that last year. Lots of knots available. Some being a pain to tie if you don't do it all the time. Snagged said something about the surgeons knot. I used that knot and only that knot during Jig Fest last year. A triple of four turn knot. I went through three jigs in three long fishing days landing many fish,

I resist the temptation to change line brands/types because my casts are fine and I don't lose fish excessively.  If you do though I wish you well in your trials.... which can be rather expensive these days.
