"Dillo Whacking" is one of those things country kids can do now while out driving around, because we'll that's what hillbilly kids do and Whacking armadillos certainly causes less problems than other choices.  Wasn't enough (or any that I knew of) when I was of age to drive around gravel roads with my friends.

We used to road hunt raccoons at night, run them down, kick them toothy things into submission and box them up for skinning later.  Hides were worth money then.  Might have road hunted a few rabbits when the snow was on.  There was no waste.  Did it to eat during college.

Man, everybody is fessing up to all kinds of illegal activities here.   Careful or you'll end up watching Bambi with ol' Whatshisname !  😂

I kind of liked Bambi. Don't know how they would keep me awake after the first couple times though.

I know a campground owner who will give you a free night if you kill 3 (off season).

Kill the coons off season or camp off season?  I don't like cold camping much anymore.

Little late to this thread but picked me up a Ruger Ranch in 5.56 about a month or two ago and I love the thing! Bought a Vortex 2x7x32 scope and I am grouping several shots in the bulls eye without any problems at 100 yards. I mainly got the rifle to knock down hogs and varmint on my property in the sticks. I'm sure it will do a number on the dillos though as well! I traded in a Hi-point 9mm carbine for it and that gun took many dillos down on the farm without any problems too.

You could shot gun a dillo real easy, Have killed them with a random stick on the ground when  it is windy. An M-16 style in 5.56mm is very easy to shoot and a good one will put ten rounds in a 10” circle at 500 meters. Open sights. It happens all the time at Camp Pendleton.

And the Dummies went to M-4 Used M-14 when I was there went to M-16.

Too bad your saying not much money I'm thinking something in .223Cal.
