Only takes 15 seconds total to snip off and retie a Palomar. Just sayin. Everyone has their own methods. I was just thinking that I retie constantly even with 17lb test dragging football jigs. I've broken off too many on hooksets when I try to justify not retying. It happens everytime with out fail!
shrapnel Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I have finally found a ned rig set up I really like. It's a 7' M Rod with a 2,000 series 13 reel spooled with 8lb hi vis yellow Power Pro, with an 8'-10' 8lb fluoro leader. I feel fish farts. Champ188, Carl W, rps and 1 other 2 2

Sounds ike a good excuse to get another spinning set up. I always look for a reason to buy more rods Champ188 and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
conman Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I stopped by Sportsman's Factory Outlet in Springfield this morning an bought a couple packs of 1/8 painted head, look just like Dave's with the number 1 Mustad hook an the twisted strand weed guard. 25 for $17. I also tried to buy from Dave but never heard back. I hope all is good. Chris

Arkie Stand Up Jig Heads. When I first starting fishing the Ned this is the head I used first. It works okay but due to the angle of the head to the hook shank the worm just never does sit perfectly flush when glued. For being anal retentive on things like that I just couldn't continue using that Arkie head in good conscious. Once I went and got some of Dave's heads I never have ventured from them. Champ188 1
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I feel like if your not using elaztec your ned rigging wrong. Zinkers are the way to go,if you cut them you get 12 for the same price as 8 trd's. Ive put senkos and yum dingers in a fish tank and they fall over on there face...Elaztec stands straight up. the head doesnt matter what so ever unless use use the proper plastic. (its pretty much a texas rig with a short worm) snagged in outlet 3, big c, Champ188 and 1 other 4

If your bites are coming on the bottom while basically dead sticking it then you're definitely right. If they are biting it while it's just drifting through the water column then it probably doesn't matter one bit whether it is a genuine TRD or a piece of a Senko. rps 1
Gavin Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Those Arkie heads will work, but the hook rusts real easy. Usually use those for flair hair jigs like Ron Kruger used to sell. Seth 1
