Been fishing the past couple of days and it’s been good.  When there’s low pressure and dodging rain like we have it means two things for me.  Work is slow round here and fishing is good, plus a third aspect it allows me time to sneak off and go.   Saturday my son and I got on some fish in the lower spring river and also caught a PB walleye, that was a thrill it put up quite a battle.  I finally got Landen his own baitcaster and at 10yo he throws it quite well.  He had a blast catching some small bit fiesty smallies on it.

Yesterday I snuck off to current river after work for a few hours and with thunder in the background the smallies where after the top water.   Curious how many of you make an extra effort to fish when the barometer is low.  I just go when I can but I usually can when it’s wet around here and that usually means low pressure.  Lol.  Anyhow a front is finally coming in down so higher pressure coming, still gonna go if get the chance!

Good to see you two get into them!

I am a wuss, if there's lightning I am outta there.

Had some pretty nasty stuff come through last night, quite a few trees down in the area, when it hit, about 11 PM, it was constant lightning flashes for about 20 minutes, wind was howling.  Lost power for about 4 hours, but other than that it wasn't too bad.  Sure would not want to be out on the water when something like that comes through.

nice WalterHead!!! and man you look different with some face hair hahahahahaha

I used to be hung up on trying to fish the most optimal weather conditions or what I thought were the best and now I just try to go where other people haven't fished in awhile and that pretty much helps me out with the bites. I think it is better with an approaching front......usually hahahahaha

I go when I can. I grew up trying to fish low pressure. My Dad would drag me along when Tropical Storms were roiling in. Think weak Hurricane because the barometric pressure was super low. These days I tend to agree that low fishing pressure is more important than low barometric pressure.

Fished the front coming in this morning and caught 26 bass and 4 hybrids in 3 hours... All on the fly rod and all on a @BilletHead clouser in Pat's hot pink flavor!  They we're fired up today...

Broke off the pink one on a nice bass right on the hookset because I got lazy and forgot to retie after 20 fish or so.  Other than that no big ones this time but still stupid fun on the long rod
