ness Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Pretty cool. I suppose the ‘modern-day Lewis and Clark’ comment was inevitable. But L&C dragged them up to MT before coming back down. Brian Jones, Coosa, patfish and 2 others 5 John
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 I go to old town St Charles every week and I've read all the milestone dates on the maps down there. Crazy!!!! Drag them upstream. And when you see the size of the boats....Simply unbelievable today. Daryk Campbell Sr, Terrierman and ness 3
Flysmallie Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 L&C didn't drag anything. They had "people" for that. MOstreamer 1

MOPanfisher Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Of course it also took Lewis and Clark almost 2 1/2 years to make it to the Pacific Ocean and back. I enjoyed reading their journals while sitting in a tree stand several years ago. There were days when they camped almost within sight of their previous days camp. But reading about how hot it was made sitting the cold stand more bearable. Always wondered how many deer I missed because I was too busy reading. Terrierman, snagged in outlet 3 and ness 3

Their "people" as you dismissively refer to the men who weren't Lewis or Clark were critical to their journey. Does not change one iota the magnificence of what was accomplished by the Corps of Discovery. or the leadership of Lewis and Clark. And one further comment. How do you know what you say to be true?
