Edit to add: I find it interesting that you say "The reason we have investigations and court trials because we cant just choose what to believe."

You know the same could be said for a significant amount of science that you proclaim is malarkey.

You are 100% correct.   Some believe it because they blindly trust anyone with a degree.  Others, like myself, combine what biologists say with personal observations and first hand knowledge from my own experience.....and have QUESTIONS.   You know you're on the right track, and probably closer to the truth, when your questions are met with anger and offensiveness.

Very VERY similar to religious inquiry's.

As far as court trials go, I find it incredibly troubling that a person's fate sometimes is at the hands of 12 people who truly believe that angels exist.

In a court trial you are either GUILTY, NOT guilty, or Guilty with a plea of insanity.   If everyone truly believes in God and the Bible then WHY isn't there a "God told me to" defense ?

"Snake told me to do it.  It was that snake right over there. He isn't talking anymore......I throw myself on the mercy of the court".

Did you know that claiming to be an atheist will usually disqualify you from jury duty?

I find it hard to believe though that you would trust a court preceding/investigation based on facts and data over facts and data presented by someone with a degree just because it doesn't match your experiences. It just in my mind doesn't align.

Hasn't your own argument against biologist been that they often have an agenda? That there not truly impartial, that they come pre-loaded with preconceived notions that leads them to the conclusion they want instead of what the data presents? You often directly refute what they say is the facts and supplant it instead with what your experiences are instead.

To draw a comparison: Do you truly believe there is such a thing an an impartial jury/judge/police officer/detective/witnesses? Do you not think the those people always go where the facts lead them? Do you not believe there are people punished by the system wrongly, based on facts and data? INCLUDING eye witness accounts which have proven to be unreliable?

I just feel like you using the court system to confirm your bias in a positive manner as it relates to religion while using the nearly same argument to confirm your bias in the negative direction towards scientist.

FWIW: I did interview a gentlemen one time who told me point blank in the interview he was a convicted felon for molesting a minor. He proceeded to tell me he was extremely messed up and "God told him is touch her inappropriately".

I don't know what his official defense was but that is what he told me in the interview.

I don't ALWAYS disagree with Scientists/Biologists, I just only discuss the matter when I do.    Your view of me hating and mistrusting scientists is radical and unjustified.

I wholeheartedly believe that lightning is created the way scientists say it is, and not something thrown down from the heavens by a supreme creator.

Do you believe enough in scientists that you are comfortable with genetic modification of plants and animals ?  I hope so, because it is irreversible.

I have sat quietly by for far too long.

You keep mixing up your plurals and your possessives! That should be 'religious inquiries' :D

Thank you!

Why doesn't spell check work when it is supposed to ?

Let's add computer programmers to the list of jackasses that don't know what the hell they are doing.  😊

Nope. Typically the only thing holding a programmer back is a budget that has a large bearing on the decision maker's salary. But they make good money doing it.

Not looking to further fan the flames on this topic but thought I would share this as an illustration of my point regarding the erosion of the public education system and the associated political biases.

The faculty at Chico State University which is a public university located in rural California and not considered to be some wacko, far left wing institution like Cal Berkley or some of the others out there recently released these two official statements:

"We want students, staff and faculty of color, as well as any other groups that have been targeted by white supremacist insults, ridicule and other forms of oppression to know that CFA sees the harm that Is inflicted when we are all subjected to witness such abuse."

And:

"Displaying banners and signs supporting the reelection of the sitting president can be experienced as an act of racist provocation."

Those are official statement from the Chico State Faculty Association (CFA).

Kinda hard to believe that this institution of "higher learning" is facilitating a whole lot of diverse dialogue and robust debate so that young people can make objective and informed decisions.

"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."  George Carlin

"The only money ever wasted is money never spent."  Me.

California is toast.

Is it the water, or what?   Surely just crossing the state line doesn't turn your brain into spaghetti.
