I always like the first longear of the season. Then they can and do get in the way of catching different species. Though catching colorful spawning males does make them interesting other than just catching numbers. FishnDave, JestersHK, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5
kjackson Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 My list starts off with "finish the kitchen". Next, I need to buy a new boat and get the old one ready to sell. Then I need to bite the bullet and find someone to do some repair work on the dock at the lake place. After: Get back into fly fishing and fly tying. Find walleyes in LOZ and Truman Find some decent bluegills--and chase 'em with a popper Get dialed in on whites and hybrids Fish Montrose and the strip pits near town Start decluttering my fishing gear piles... DADAKOTA Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I'm hoping to go through the enormity of tackle I have collected over the years and get rid of many, many lures I don't use. Many have never been in the water. Mostly crankbaits and stick baits. May also eliminate any rods/reels I no longer use. Would like to acquire a larger boat as well. Not a big fan of big water though, so we'd likely stay in the sloughs. There's this big wind/wave break that stops big waves from coming in from the mouth of the bay. Keeps it relatively calm compared to most great lakes bays. snagged in outlet 3 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Mitch f Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 I learned to drop shot in 2019. 2020 will be getting my little ones interested in fishing. Already getting them interested in tying. Johnsfolly and snagged in outlet 3 2 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

jdmidwest Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Jet boat coming this spring, one way or another. Continue to explore new waters like last year. Hopefully have a better bass year this year out of a boat. Seems like every trip was post front and water was blown out. I can count the good trips on less than one finger. But, I did see lots of new areas. Cordell Hull was a fair trip, probably the best one of the season. But it was white bass and sauger in 95 degree weather this fall.
