I agree with you @BilletHead but how do think they come up with Vaccines so quickly? And no kids I know read OAF by the way. I don’t expose my kids to this. This is a bunch of guys having a rational discussion (mostly). But I have no hope for the human race on this earth actually. I believe you and I both have opinions on how it will eventually end.

               Oh I know someday the human race will end but no man knows the time or place it will happen but you and I know we should be prepared! Sad but happy day right?

  As for the vaccines actually they don't come quickly enough and it is just a guessing game each year for the flu shot. It covers a few of the anticipated virus mutations but not all. 

    Your kids may not read this but every time someone kids included they google something covered on this forum it picks it up. When I was making so many balsa poppers and researching others techniques  I found some I had did. I was contacted by another builder who was making handouts for a program he was doing and wanted my permission to use what I had posted. I told him have at and thanked him. 

    Be careful folks once we type on this world wide web its here forever. Think about it.

               Your older ones yes they are mature enough to understand but scaring the heck out of younger ones? NOOOOOOOO. They don't understand or are able to comprehend what is going on. Children are given smart phones and computers at a very young age and can run upon all kinds of things they do not need to see. If I had young ones knowing what they can see out there. Darned right there will be some parental control. Looking back even when I grew up I thank my parents for some control and sheltering. Fought it then and thank them now. I even think BilletHeadJr realizes now that he is a parent why we did what we did as his parents.

I don't believe there are any actual vaccines for COVID 19 yet.  There a lot of labs working on it, the first and quickest thing they try is exsiting vaccines to see if they work, then modifying them to see that will work, then going to the long route of creating new.  The last choice will take time.  Even if China were to say we have a vaccine I doubt that I would trust them.much if at all.

Speaking of viruses, smallpox may hold the record for number of humans killed.  20-30% of people who contracted the major version of it died.  If you the little blisters it caused in your eyes, you could be blinded, it could also disfigure survivors.  Smallpox was around for hundreds of years.  It decimated Native American populations in both North and South America who had no resistance to it.

Very true, but we have had a vaccine for Smallpox for a long time.  However even though some years back there was talk about destroying the last of the research viruses of Smallpox due it being wiped out.  That was scary, smallpox could easily make a comeback 50 years from now if vaccines go not of use for it.  There is no doubt in my mind that other governments, etc. have made attempts to weaponize it for possible use if needed with a modified version that the old vaccine wouldn't work on, but a new version they would have would.  Same for many viruses.  Any government that would consider a weaponized virus that they cannot protect their own people from would be STUPID.  Of course I like to read books about various terrorist organizations and whacko groups that would happily create a  virus that would wipe out a huge percentage of the world population and take their chances and either let God protect them or have their own special vaccine for them.

             Yep and like most viruses NO ONE produced it. Manifested on its own and for those of you that didn't read the link I posted some native Americans were infected with it on purpose. So sad and like I said I want to believe civilized nations do not think this way.

But we are really no more civilized that we were 500 years ago, when we did this, are we? Most of us can claim to be descended from those who used smallpox and cholera to win ownership of the Americas. And even those who did this thought or claimed that they were the most civilized peoples of the world. Throughout history one side in every war has claimed to be superior beings to the animals they were attempting to kill, often enough both sides claimed the high ground. I don't think civilized man is nearly as commendable as his remotest savage ancestors in such matters, it appears that the more civilized a tribe is the easier it is for them to devalue the lives of other tribes.

I know but find it interesting that Tyson’s was building the largest Poultry Processing Plant in world in China. Bird flu wipes out their poultry. Tyson’s says no problem we will supply the Chickens.

I have found I eat Chili a few days people around me get better quality Mask.
