Most of us can claim to be descended from those who used smallpox and cholera to win ownership of the Americas. And even those who did this thought or claimed that they were the most civilized peoples of the world. Throughout history one side in every war has claimed to be superior beings to the animals they were attempting to kill, often enough both sides claimed the high ground. I don't think civilized man is nearly as commendable as his remotest savage ancestors in such matters, it appears that the more civilized a tribe is the easier it is for them to devalue the lives of other tribes. Oh I think we are way more civilized at least I am. Now would you unleash a killer virus on anyone? tjm Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Congratulations. Can you say that with authority and proof about any or all politicians worldwide?

Manifested on its own and for those of you that didn't read the link I posted some native Americans were infected with it on purpose. So sad and like I said I want to believe civilized nations do not think this way. We are fortunate to be living where we are and in this time. Covid is serious for sure, but throughout human history people have been dealing with infectious, deadly diseases. Smallpox, cholera, malaria, bubonic plague, typhus, tuberculosis, polio, to name a few. Childbirth for women was always a roll of the dice. Any infection was a serious matter. Always going to be a war between us and the microbes. MOPanfisher, Mitch f and BilletHead 3

Jerry Rapp Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 100 years ago world war 1 was ending. Automobiles were still a rarity. Fishing lures? Some wooden topwaters? Monofilimant line was 30 years into the future. What do you think those folks would have thought the world would be like in 100 years? BilletHead 1

You chose to be superior to you parents and grandparents. I don't believe you. And when I said "we" in my previous post, I meant it as encompassing all of mankind. If you want to take it to a personal level, make a choice about a loved ones life and that of a stranger, both in fatal danger and you can save only one, which is it? You wife is being attacked, do you remain civilized and reason with the attacker while calling the police or do turn to violence and retaliation? The mere fact that we in possibly the most advanced country of the world still have jails and a criminal code is solid evidence that we as a nation are still not civilized. The fact that we still feel the need for a military is solid evidence that we as a nation do not believe other nations are civilized. Rather a pointless discussion, like the merits of one religion over another, the speakers choice will always be the right one. No bias for race creed or color of our fellow man. Would I defend my spouse of loved one yes for sure if needed to and Our country certainly. Yes if threatened we will all do something. Did our for fathers need to give the natives small pox on purpose? Did our for fathers need to enslaved men women and children from another country? You still have not answered my question I asked. We as humans have come along way by learning. Again do you feel more civilized than our for fathers? You take it as I am saying I am superior to others? Where did you get that idea? When did I say that? ness 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!"
