I think we are big boys here Rick and Phil shouldn't have to keep an eye on us. We should be able to police ourselves and stay on track. I repeat myself there is a place to do the political banter.

I agree.  To the same place I earlier mentioned.  It's just not going to be a one way street.

political place is secret handshake thing though like a conspiracy meeting and oneshot said nobody else went there so I don't need to learn the password or the hand shake stuff.  Donald and Hillary were good buddies before they both applied for the same job, birds of a feather and all- they have the same end goal in mind  and are playing the public like a shell game, the truth is always under the other shell.

About the indictments, an indictment is nothing at all more than an accusation and require no proof nor any reason, you can view it as formalized feces throwing. And the attention such stuff draws from the public and media  is often  used to hide something by the accuser.

Me too.  I went so far as to report posts as inappropriate due to politics in general chat.  Didn't work.

I saw those alerts and I'm sure Phil did also.  I believe Phil hopes the membership will self police itself and refrain from making political posts in other than the political forum.  Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work as it just keeps going on and on.

And it is tough to stay out of the political mud, I've been sorely tempted myself but have managed to hold off.

But out of respect for Phil and the great site he has provided us we should all quit making political posts in the general topics forums and for crying out loud there is a political forum.

I can start editing political stuff out if you guys want me to.

Jeff shouldn't have to do it. Pack it up boys and move please. don't be embarrassed to ask someone for the password. Is that why no one is doing it?

No,, its because some don't want to play by the rules.  That's why there are referees.

Thanks Jeff for making the offer.

I'd be more interested in this "debate" if it had any merit whatsoever.

The amount of digging you guys are doing just to come up with something to slam the president about, is rediculous.  It's rediculous because NONE OF IT effects you.   Votes are personal, everyone that votes, allegedly votes for the person they feel is best for THEM and their personal idea of good.

Nobody has been shat on by this president.   Things for you are good.   Yet you're not happy.   My money says you'll never be happy regardless.

I actually resent that.  I actually DO care about this country, and about other people, and about the environment.  Yeah, I've had it good under Trump up until the virus.  I had it just as good the last 5 years of the Obama administration.  But I'm NOT voting strictly on what's good for me.  I'm voting for the future for my nieces and nephews.  And I think Trump has done FAR more harm than good to this country, to its reputation around the world among those who used to be our allies, to the divisions within it that he has done absolutely nothing to lessen and a whole lot to foment.  It simply blows my mind that so many people think he's done a good job and accomplished all this stuff.  I've seen lists of his accomplishments.  Guess what?  Nearly every one of them would have happened just as quickly and easily under ANY Republican President with a supermajority like he had his first two years, and surely most of the other Republican choices wouldn't have been this combative, lying, and embarrassing.  And some of the stuff he's tried to do was shot down by some in his own party.  For every promise he made that he's tried to keep, there's been one that he let quietly slip into obscurity.  Remember the terrific health plan he had that would replace Obamacare with something better?  It didn't exist.  When he got into office, he quietly waited for the Republican Congress to come up with something he could put his name to, and they couldn't do it, either.  He has come up with nothing on his own except for the wall, a simplistic idea that won't do a lot of good unless it's combined with spending a LOT more money on surveillance, patrols, high tech drones, etc.  Otherwise it can be defeated by a ladder or a tunnel (and there is a LOT of cheap labor for the tunnel). Oh, and Mexico ain't paying for it.

This will be my last political post.  I don't come on here to argue politics, and I don't expect to change anybody's mind.  But once in a while I do like to speak my own.

So, what’s the rule?
