Our melons and squash are rotting on the vine.

Zucchini is doing great.

Cucumbers....we got 2 good ones, and the others didn't make it.

Tomatoes are all splitting open way before they are ready to pick.

The wife's cilantro, dill, and various spices are all still doing great.

Strawberries yeilded one good bucketful.....then nothing.

Basically spent close to a grand on gardening crap this year, and could have matched the outcome for 25.00 at the local market.  🙄

Should have got crop insurance like the big farmers do.

Try keeping bees.  You need a second job to support that habit.

              Feeding the hungry,

While out patrolling the garden this morning I seen this box turtle. Picked a little tomato and set it in frot of him. His neck began to streach out,

Then it's like this is kind of good and he really got into it,thumbnail_0813200724c.jpgthumbnail_0813200724d.jpg

Glad he can't climb :) . Had a possum getting one or two a night. He is gone!

Good Grief! Another picking this morning. Cherry tomatoes are manageable. Big tomatoes not so much. Still dehydrating and giving away. More salsa making tomorrow. Picked the remaining cucumbers today and Pat pulled the vines so we can prepare to plant Fall Bok Choy.

You know we have thought about this a time or two. Just haven't worked up the nerve.   I am seriously thinking of hauling a load or restored cast iron to our local one. Maybe next season.
