N9BOW Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 Update: Got a call from the Detective. Yes the dog is being well cared for and will be chipped. They (her rescuers) may adopt her out or keep her. The believe they have the person in the video... Just gave the officer more info (the folks that dumped her put out food). Apparently there was a big stink made on Facebook (thanks to whoever put up the video) apparently tips rolled in once that video of the truck was put out there. Sounds like they took off the chrome bed rails to possibly hide their match. I'm guessing they saw the video too. I plan on meeting up with the detective and the neighbor that got the dog when I come down. - Thats it for now. Sounds like a good outcome for the pup! Quillback Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Glad to hear things worked out for the dog. Facebook vengeance might be worse than what they could face from the law. N9BOW 1

The detective was as peeved as I was and is a dog lover....we had some nice conversations and I am going to pay him a visit when I get down in a couple weeks. We're gonna grab a coffee and some lunch. Seemed like a really nice guy! Quillback and BilletHead 2
N9BOW Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 BTW if anyone has a link to the Facebook post I'd love to see it.

I have never heard of anyone being charged with it.

All they would have to do is tell the judge that the dog just showed up where they were at, wouldn't quit pestering them, and some random person told them that they thought the dog lived THERE. And they were just being a good Samaritan and attempting to return it. Which may very well be the case. There's no evidence proving otherwise. Obviously they aren't terrible rotten people or they just would have dumped him any old where and sped off into the sunset.

Because the video does not show them taking the dog out of the truck they have no proof they dumped it. and your point about the excuse is enough to make this whole thing a get dismissed. At the end of the day I have contacted the folks that have her. I plan on contributing to her vet bill. Shes about 8 months old and is in heat she is getting spayed. I guess she is pretty well trained, she listens, sits stays etc which will help homing her if they don't keep her. BilletHead, JestersHK, Deadstream and 3 others 6
