Gavin Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 No hard feelings, glad you caught a good one. Congrats. Don’t wise up the chumps with recognizable features in the background. snagged in outlet 3 1
fishinwrench Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 My reaction actually came from both of your posts. The first one I read indicated that you fished the river and according to your numbers it seemed apparent that a recent stocking had been made, and you also mentioned catching a few Smallies one of which was a real sweetheart. To me that meant you were at least below the island. (cuz there's darn few smallmouth between the park and the island). Then I see the next post....and it looked like the PARK (Suzy hole to be exact). I don't recall there being a bench by the park boat ramp....but apparently there is, I don't hang out there because the signs say you're not supposed to use the ramp. 🙄 I was actually a little let down because I had hoped that a river stocking had happened.....but finding a group of trout at the mouth of the spring branch isn't an indicator of that happening, at all. Then it occurred to me that.....Wait a minute, the park is definitely closed....and here's a dude with a chunk smallie and a rattle trap in its mouth, at the SUZY HOLE! 😂 I couldn't care less myself, to be honest, you can throw crankbaits in the park when it's closed all you want as far as I'm concerned....but I didn't want you to get busted for mistakenly throwing up a dated pic on a public forum and getting narc'd on. trythisonemv and snagged in outlet 3 2

Concern appreciated as far as you know I could be a total moron lol. I wasn't on ty he ramp but standing on the mud bank. My original intention was to take you our advice and float below Barclay for some smallies and browns but the river is currently blown out so I had to settle for the only access with an eddy known to hi old the occasional smallies and lost assuredly hold trout. The bench is a recent addition to that area to me as well. Not offended that anyone was trying to look out for me. I have fished that river since I was 4 years old and know where when to catch something to dodge a proper skunking. Thanks to all who voiced concern but trust me when I I say I am no moron . 😁 unless you ask my wife ... Greasy B, Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 3

I won't post locations like that anymore and haven't for years. Over 700 views already between your tow posts. trythisonemv 1

Obviously you haven't spent much time in that particular spot because it always has company. Never been there when there wasn't at least a half dozen hanging around. trythisonemv 1

Never said there wasn't anybody there, just said you will have more company when you post up like that. You can post locations all you want but some people don't realize how many internet scouts use this place. ness 1
ness Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Yeah, for every one of us posting there are potentially hundreds reading. I think it’s especially impactful on smaller streams. Saw a post on FB yesterday that was just sickening. A post by a large fly fishing retailer (who likes to advertise how conservation minded they are) with a dude holding a large fish. No location was mentioned, but in the comments, the dude couldn’t resist identifying himself and the small MO stream, telling exactly where he was standing. That was followed by another big fish brag shot of him identifying the same spot, in case anyone missed it the first time. fishinwrench and snagged in outlet 3 1 1 John
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I found out the hard way. I actually had golf buddies that didn't know my screen name on here show up at a spot I made the mistake of mentioning on here. This was years ago! If it's a big body of water, no big deal. But small areas get raped. You can believe it or not, it's your choice. I sent a guy a PM on here one time after he posted up a smallie stream that is too small to handle much pressure especially by people who keep fish. His post had over 1,000 views in a couple weeks. He had no idea the amount of people looking. Do what you want. ness 1
