Yeah, now that Johnny bought em they're using untreated pine. And the lifetime hull warranty has been reduced to 6 months. LOL

More reason than ever to report any permit-ignoring, outlaw jackpot tournaments. You know the ones … weigh the fish on the tailgate of a pickup truck, then literally stand on the bank and chunk em back in the lake to float around and die.

I’ve had 4 or 5 calls this week asking if our tournament is open to anyone. My phone number is listed on the regatta permit. First I tell them there is no entry fee and no money to win, they say thanks and hang up before I can say we cancelled. It’s hilarious cause it happens every year. Guys looking to cash in on a small tournament.

That is what all tournaments should be.  Bragging rights only.   Catch, weigh and release immediately.

here  we go again. bash tourney fisherman, Its funny though you guys will fish the tourney this site is putting on.  Get a life. Not all tourney fisherman are bad people.  Some of you who bash tourney fisherman used to do it back in the day when you didnt have the resources we have today to keep them healthy in the live well, and lost many fish. You know who your are, i wont mention any names

No one is bashing anyone who responsibly handles their fish. As I stated above, there are some who don't and we all know it. This is especially true up in the summer when shallow-water oxygen levels are low. The evidence can be found the next morning floating around the ramp where the fish were "released." If you aren't going to properly release them where they have a good chance to recover, might as well just take em home and run and knife thru them.

Wrong.  I fished them back when there were only 2-4 per month.   Now that there are 50-75 per month on every lake in the country I am wise enough to realize, and not too selfish to admit that it is TOO MUCH.

If the amount of constant bass relocation going on now is not considered excessive, then at what point would you admit that it IS excessive?     200 per month?   1000?      

Just please answer that simple question.

Definitely room for improvement. I fish the big bass tour and I suggest they add at least two more weigh in locations besides Long Creek. Add one at Port of Kimberling and have another up the James or the White. This way the fish are being released closer to their haunts. If we want to start limiting the amount of tournaments do it in the summer months when fish are more likely to perish. Another option is start earlier (if possible) and end the tournament around noon. Instead of 5 fish limits do 3.

All good suggestions.  No matter what something needs to be done if we are to conserve this resource for real.
