I was ready to call it a day after seeing that. Cousin of mine lived up on the bluff at Easley. He told me that he watched many a big cottonwood get swallowed like that, but it was more impressive to see them come back up. Imagine seeing a 80' tall tree just pop up out of the water and go flying through the air, then sploosh back in and disappear again. snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 1 1

Sights like that would keep me away too, used to fish the lower Columbia for sturgeon, but never saw any jumping trees. Columbia seems kind of tame compared to what you guys have seen on the MO.
fishinwrench Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 What makes the MO so creepy is that it is so muddy. Zero visibility. So when something goes under it is just GONE. And so many opposing currents, both vertical and horizontal. The Osage has those vertical/horizontal currents also at times, but it's clearer and doesn't seem near as scary to me.
45acp Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 Got back out on the MO over Labor Day weekend. Lots of guys fishing. Lots of fish being caught. We saw a couple jumbos in other boats. We didn't catch any big ones, but we got enough nice eaters to fill five one-gallon ziplock bags with nuggets. Johnsfolly, nomolites and snagged in outlet 3 3

The north ramp in St Charles had a line up yesterday to put in. No pleasure boats all fishing. Lot was full of trailers too. Thx for the report... 45acp 1
