A question concerning DNR

Or who ever is in charge of maintaining or opening the public restrooms at the public access and fishing area below table rock dam. They have been closed most all of this season.and remain closed now. Hundreds of people use this area on a daily basis. Is DNR not funded by "our" tax dollars. I want a good explanation on what the problem is with re-opening them. Are the DNR people still being paid for staying home. Those same restrooms use to be maintained and cleaned on a daily basis by private contractors. Why not now if you all are going to sit home and do nothing.

It's MDC.  The visitor center is closed.  Has been since Covid.  I'm sure that's why the bathroom is closed too.

The restroom at the MDC Cooper Creek ramp is open.  It's a vault, not flush toilets.  Maintained by a different division of MDC though.

They don't seem to have any problems at the trout parks. You would think there would be no greater risk.

The creek accesses have been a part of the Forestry Division, they took down the vault toilets on the Elk several years ago in response to complaints about not being clean. The ones at the visitor center would be Fisheries. I bet they could taken down too'. But I believe that in addition to the covid thing that MDC is in the midst of reorganizing and shifting responsibilities. Elimination/combining  of some Divisions I think.

What you need to do is kick off a WLM (Women's lives matter) firestorm.   

Guys can pee anywhere, but women need a restroom.  They are being sexist and crude by not providing a place for women to tinkle....after being paid handsomely to do so.  

Ask them why they don't want women to be able to enjoy our outdoor recreational parks?    You have to claim that someone, or some group, is a victim or else nobody will ever move to get anything done these days.

You nailed it fw. If it was just me I would not complain. Each time I take my wife, then you have to plan your fishing around a pee break. I bet the local quick stops on either side of the dam are getting a little tired of it.

Because of this the woods around the outlets and trails below TRD have been blessed by yours truly multiple times this summer. The port-o-potty is open finally down by the ramp at least.
