I have been checked twice at Table Rock, once a the ramp and another time out on the water.  Kind of boring, they ask to see my license, I show it to them, and they leave.  They haven't even looked in the live wells.

Still have yet to be checked in Arkansas - I've seen the wardens out on the road, but have yet to be checked.

They have a somewhat beat up bass boat they work out of and you wouldn't notice it is them from a distance.  However to Al's point, it would seem to me that a more visible presence would help deter people from making game violations.

I seem to have much better luck with HP and GW than I do local deputys and city cops.

They really do seem to be looking for something to do.

I was at Beaver last year and fishing around Indian Creek when we heard talking in the brush. From the sound of it the game warden was watching boats load up and then getting them when they pulled up the hill out of sight of the ramp.

Great ploy to not have to chase down a law breaker when you pull up to the ramp and they scatter.

. He said I was afraid he was going to ask if I shot one :) .

Such an angelic specimen that he would just have to say "Yes I did, Sir, please arrest me and confiscate my gear".   😄

Good guy but very nervous about he is out to get me type of deal. He never actually hit one but i suppose he hunted it? :)

Was in CO elk hunting up on BLM ground and had a cow as well as a bull tag.  Final evening of the hunt a herd of cows comes over a bench toward me and I wait and let them all pass hoping for a bull following, no dice.  Settled my crosshairs on the last cow and dropped “her” from about 75 yds.  Get up to the elk and find it has little bitty spikes I did not identify as they are shorter than it’s ears.  I quarter the animal out and pack it out, including the head, and notified the DOW when I got down the mountain.  I was staying a couple extra days in a cabin on the Frying Pan to fish and my wife was meeting me there that evening and I gave them the location.  A bit later an agent shows up, writes me a ticket, and confiscates the elk.  I wasn’t happy, but I screwed up and told her as much.  Politely.

Later that night(about 10pm) there is a knock on the cabin door and I answer it...it is the agent.  She asks if I still want an elk and I said yes and she said follow me....  I follow her out to the truck and she has a bull in back that someone road hunted...If I want to quarter him out he is mine.  I got to work skinning, and she explained that she has rules she has to follow and was required to confiscate my spike but because I self-disclosed mistake and didn’t waste the animal she wanted me to head home with meat from this illegally killed bull.

Have run into her into her a couple times since and I still appreciate her.

My wife's cousin had a similar experience when bear hunting in PA. He saw a bear standing broadside about 200 yds away. He shot the bear but looked away. Looked back and the bear was still standing there. Figured that he missed shot again and it dropped. He went over and found two dead bears. He knew the warden pretty well and called him to the scene. The warden recognized that taking the second bear was a mistake. However legally he had to take both bears. He did call a day or two later and offered her cousin a confiscated bear.

You are not required to answer questions. Only bad experience was down on the Castor. We were eating lunch and drinking a beer out of the trunk of my Mom’s Luxo Car (she was in FL for the month and my Jeep was in the shop) had a couple fly rods under the wipers. Agent in uniform asked us a few questions that we never really answered, but his ride along was standing behind us with his hand on his pistol the whole time. I was armed with a chunk of a deli sandwich and a cold beer. Hope that boot never made the cut.

Group of five or so were fishing BSSP one year on the opener. As buddy and I started to leave to go to the motel, the local female agent at the time decided to pull us over. "What's the problem Ma'am?" I think you have caught over your limit and would like to inspect your cooler. I said , let's give it a look see and go from there. Said we have 2 more of your group stopped at the lower end of the Park . Lady had run my car license and knew my name etc. I hadn't caught anything worth keeping and buddy had kept one fish and had the  fish frozen with the correct I.D. Lady said there been people in and out of your car all day. Yes, as there are 3 sets of keys to my Bronco and some cold refreshments in the cooler. No fish and 2 warm beers later and we were off to the motel with no "I'm sorry" or anything. Other agent went to our motel unit and talked with the owner with his concerns. Terry G. said no problem, I know  these boys and they won't keep over their limit. Offered to bet the agent a sizable chunk of change. Group of 5 had kept a total of 7 fish in 2 days of fishing.

Cops I think are funny. Was out with one He picks up a Jacket that looked like his. Pockets were full of Dope. All he did was pull it off said he didn't think it was his. LOL

They called me one time asking if I knew another person was driving my Pickup? It was my Son.

I always liked messing with Undercover. Know where a Guy can get some Good Dope? LOL

One time bunch of Federal Cops came to the house pulling all their Guns asking if I was so and so? Told them yes. Good your the man we need. Seems they was looking for a murderer and wanted me to take them to this guy.

After they left my wife says I didn't know if you were going to run or what. I looked at her, like What! Told her why and if I did and they shot me. Actually I was just wondering where I was going to spend the night?

Took one back in the Hills to serve papers. Every so often he would grab the dash and say Oh My! Paid me good.

You got very lucky.  Alcoholic beverages inside the state park boundaries will get you busted pronto.
