Also depends on what unit your taking the temp with. For some reason Garmins consistently read 2 degrees cooler than Lowrance or Birds.  Had a couple different Garmins now and they have always been 2 degrees colder, same with buddies Ive compared with on the water before tourney blast offs

Lowrance units can be synchronized.   My units (3) are all set 100% accurate, synchronized to actual REAL temperature (within 000.02 degrees).

I'm anal that way. 😊

To within 000.02° of the accepted temperature measurements that water freezes and boils.

You know a better, more accurate way?  Would love to hear it, so I could have yet another reason to bash a scientist.

no, i mean what type of standard or other instrument do you use to actually set your gauges by.  you get bent way out of shape so easily it is crazy.  even medical thermometers have a plus or minus range.  so, is there an accurate instrument that anyone can purchase, without costing more than a boat, to set our gauges by?
