Taneycomo has been that way for years. Just about the time you know that you have things figured out, it will beat you like a whipped pup. It can give you the best, and the worst,  trip you have ever had. And sometimes both happen in the same day due to changing water conditions. I have fished taney since 1975, both day and night. It has beat me, abused me and sent me home talking to myself. But it is without question my favorite fishing hole.

I told my buddy he gets a do over as it's a very poor example of such an excellent fishery.  If I was flying solo I would of stayed and grinded out till morning... it's just what you have to do sometimes.

The lockjaw was def strong this trip.

You have nothing to explain.   Hopefully your city boy,  friend had a good time otherwise.   He should have learned a few things to try in the stocked ponds.

Yeah its beyond foreign to him lol.  Quite odd really, but just never had anyone to show him or take him.   

He's my neighbor down our street so we're going to hit the ponds when we get back and take his 2 kids out too.

He did everything right, fish just didnt cooperate lol.

Even had his license and stamp already purchased before we came down.

I relate.  Lucky for me, there was one or two opportunities, and a couple big brothers who took me a couple times.  My parents never went, or cared.  I had a long track to the parks with ponds, but I always enjoyed it.   I grew up in South St Louis,  and it wasn't a thing of interest for most.
