No different than choosing not to wear a seatbelt.

Some people get Covid and it's no worse than a case of the sniffles. Others get it and die.     Not enough is known about this bug.  And I personally go back & forth over whether it's even REAL or not.  Mainly because it seems that the only thing that can kill you these days is Covid.

Sucks to say it, or hear it said, but population density is the REAL problem.   There's too many of us....and this is what happens.   🤷‍♂️

I didn't even have that.

You must. everything I have read says the same. Wearing a mask only keeps you from spreading droplets containing the virus.

Interesting. So they stop droplets from moving one way but not the other?

So if I don’t have the virus, I can flip the mask around, wear it backwards and it will stop me from getting infected droplets from somebody else?

Thats essentially what your saying. Droplets can move one way through the mask but not the other.

The problem with all of the arguments presented here is that you are thinking in absolutes. Wearing a mask minimizes the amount of drolets coming from you for example if you sneeze. It does not fully eliminate those droplets. Droplets from an unmasked sneeze will carry beyond six feet but a masked one does not. Thus you are protecting others if you wear a mask AND social distance. The masks and face coverings that most of us have access to or actually wear do not effectively filter out virus sized particles. So there cannot be a claim that you are 100 percent safe while wearing a mask. Take a look at disinfectant sprays. None will ever state that they kill 100% of all germs and instead state 99.9%.

But hey free country for now. Believe what you want to believe.

I’m not against masking. I don’t like it but I do it for the betterment of my fellow Americans and my country.
But I get personal freedoms and temporary minor inconveniences are what’s most important in life.

Due to the nature of gravity, water droplets generally head towards the earth.  also, if your social distancing, the chances of you getting sneezed on are incredibly small.

Control through fear.   There's always SOMETHING.  This year it has been microscopic droplets.

They finally found a good one.

The fear is not unfounded when whole families die isolated from each other by quarantine.  The control has been in place for decades and is called fiat money,  Most of the wealth in this country is based on imagination that our money is real.

Try this, hold any kind of mask/shield/object close in front of your face  and spit through it onto a table, then wipe your hand on the table; there won't be any spit there- now spit on the table without masking your mouth and wipe your hand across the spit on the table and notice how much spit gets on your hand. A sneeze or cough expels drops of spit at great force that can aerosolized into small enough droplets that they can suspend in the air breathed around the edges of the mask. Or more commonly fall onto a surface and picked by the hands.

My boss had been feeling off for a couple weeks. The symptoms never really matched Covid so he put off getting tested. He finally did and it came back positive. At that point he was pretty well over it. I figured he would be the worst off, being in his 70s and having a bad time with the flu last year, but he bounced back pretty well. One of his buddies of similar age happened to be visiting and caught it too, got over it just fine.

My coworker (he spends the most time around the boss) got it and has been off work since the Monday before Thanksgiving. He's supposed to be coming back Monday. He's 40, in decent shape, not the type to stay home because of the sniffles. He still showed up earlier this year with a broken rib from a run-in with a bull.

It's going around pretty badly here, but I seem to have dodged the bullet.

From what I have read Covid is most transmissible through the air, not as much from surface contact. There is really no question as to whether or not masks help at this point, if people would wear them.

I sat in front of Bass Pro on black friday for about 30 minutes while my order was being pulled. Probably 30% of people coming and going had no mask. The place was a zoo, like any other year. The reserved parking spots for pickup were mostly empty. They were offering a 5% discount just for curbside pickup, guess I don't understand why people would want to pay more to go inside and shop during a pandemic.

dont let the proletariats know!!

When I took economics in high school I was taught how our monetary system worked, and I was flabbergasted when I found out that our system is based solely on the faith in the dollar.  Do they not teach that in school anymore or are people too stupid to realize it?
