Two Winter Trip Reports

@Mitch fand I had been trying to get together to fish for quite a while and we got it done twice in the past week and half on two different streams and days.  I haven't joined the 20" club and Mitch is the chairman so I was excited.  The first stream we realized from pictures that we both had caught fish in the same location.  It was COLD at the ramp and I had ice on the guides.  We didn't kill them but it was a good day and I caught this 17"er while Mitch beat me on numbers.

Today we went again to a new location and again Mitch beat me out n numbers but I got this one.  He wouldn’t have his picture taken with the lowly 15”ers he was catching.  It was cold again.  30 at the ramp and water temp was 40.  Great time and @Mitch fis the man.  He put me right on this one.  The tail was just a hair under 20”.  Thanks, Mitch!   I had a great time.

Sounds like a fun trip! My boat is in the shop so no fishing for me this weekend, but a buddy said he went for a few hours on the Gasconade yesterday morning and said it was brutal. They caught four dinks and that was it. They caught them pretty good the weekend before, but the water was also 6-7 degrees warmer.

I don’t think it makes it, John.  You could slide a hair between the 20” line and the top of tail.  Not even the width of the line on the board.

I’d call it 20” so many others call a 19” a 20” 😂😂
