Bill Babler Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Couple of different reports this week, but both sound alike. Fishing gravel from point 8 on the White to point 19 on the White and fishing gravel from point 9 to point 12 up the James these guys are hammering the Eye’s. Only difference is depth. Both dudes using 1 oz. bottom bouncer crawler harnesses. One guy fishing 30’ plus the other under 20’. Both said that 20’ to 30’ range seems really slow to dead. Not even many bass The guy dragging under 20’ was catching a total load of 9” gills to go with the walleye. Both reported 12 to 20 walleye a morning with about 1/2 being keepers. Biggest was a 5 pounder caught at 32’. Maybe I can try it by September 1st. Sure hope so. Good Luck. I (along with just about everybody else I know) use a 3 oz bottom bouncer on Bull to fish the 30’ depth range. Fish seem to be doing similar things on TR. I haven’t been on BS in over a week, so it may have changed. I plan on going on Sat.
Bill Babler Posted August 13, 2021 Author Posted August 13, 2021 This technique has not fully bloomed on TR. Lots of fishermen are still drop shooting for walleye in that 30' depth range using 1/4 to 3/8 drop shot weights. Not only depth but bottom configuration and speed have a lot to do with weight size. Most of the guys I know catching them here are not trollers, but up and down fishermen. The ones dragging the bouncers are just bumping the trolling motor out the points or flats at probably for the most part at under .3 mph. Most all are finding them on forward facing sonar and just fishing over the top of them Good Luck Nick Adams 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Royal Blue Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 We caught quite a few up the white last Wednesday. All on a drop shot and at that time all around 24 feet deep and right on the bottom.
Quillback Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 You guys keep this walleye talk up and it will get me heading over to the bait shop to get some worms. I rather get some bull gills on the worms, getting an eye or two would be a bonus.
Bgctrading Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 I'm headed down for three days starting Tuesday. It's been two weeks since I ha e been down.
Ron Burgundy Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 I caught this yellow bass while targeting walleye yesterday, I’ve caught them out of Beaver while crappie fishing but never had caught one out of TR. nomolites, magicwormman and Johnsfolly 3 Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford

I have seen photos of others caught in TR within the last two years. Maybe the population is growing. Quillback 1
