ollie Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Who's going this year? I know Buzz and I will be there on Friday. If you go look for us! trythisonemv and snagged in outlet 3 2 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Flysmallie Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 I might just take a vacation day and go. Been a few years since I hit the C&R opener.
ollie Posted November 11, 2021 Author Posted November 11, 2021 Uhm. Only one reply to this thread? I remember when I lot of people would go from here, but I guess it just isn't as popular as it used to be. Is it because they just don't put any real big fish in there anymore or what? I go to just warm up my techniques on the slime rockets before I start to really fish for them! Quillback Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Well I drove over the bridge the other day on my way home from Table Rock, sure looked pretty with the fall colors and an empty campground.

If we are able to get out to MO this Dec, will definitely try to get to one of the parks for C&R. Good luck to those going out for C&R
Nick Adams Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Tim's got some good stuff on his Instagram this week. My daughter and I always go between Xmas and New Years. Johnsfolly and snagged in outlet 3 2
Foghorn Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Wife Susie and I were planning to be at RR for the first day but an old friend from Potosi passed away Wednesday and we are headed to the viewing in the morning. We sometimes hit RR,BSSP and Montauk the first opening days. laker67 and snagged in outlet 3 2
ollie Posted November 15, 2021 Author Posted November 15, 2021 Well, I didn't do as well as I have in the past. Not from lack of trying that's for sure! I couldn't tell you how many times I got hung up and had to re-tie! Buzz did well though. He caught a nice big fatty up in the first hole and I think he may have got close to 100 total. I only nailed 25 total and my biggest was probably around 15". We didn't measure Buzz's fish, but I'd say it was in the 23-24" range and was well over 5 pounds. nomolites, ness and laker67 3 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Thanks for posting. I wanted to be there but the wife had the day off and trout fishing is not what she wanted to do. Hopefully I can get down there soon.
Devan S. Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 I fished for a bit both Saturday and Sunday passing through. Lots of good fish in that first hole I managed to catch one big one up there. Couple of the goldens throughout the river. Sure would like to catch one of them as well. Really just a lot of eager fish all throughout. I don't know the numbers but feel like for 2-3 hour trips I caught plenty.
