Crappie on Table Rock Lake

Guys - my neighbor wants to catch crappie - I know the Spring is a good time for crappie but in many states winter fishing for them can be hot too.  I know nothing about catching crappie on Table Rock and would like to hear your thoughts and ideas on how to catch them now - lures, depth, etc.  Thanks so much.

Best bet is to tell him to move to Warsaw. Got Truman and Lake O.  😁😁😁

I know someone that has been catching some lately, and by some I mean 5-10 keepers a day.  He's got an inventory of brush piles he runs and catches them on crappie jigs.  But you are talking someone with years of experience on this lake.  If I had to fish TR for crappie right now, I'd go up one of the river arms and run brush piles and hit some docks too.  After about 3 hours of futility, I'd put my crappie stuff away and go bass fishing.  😄

You can go up the James and pitch dock slips and catch some. Same with the Kings and Long Creek but boy that's tough

There are some good crappie guys here, but really its a pretty tight lipped bunch and its for a reason. On crappie on the Rock if you figure it out mums the word if your smart. 

There is a young guide here in Branson that has probably 50 man made locations that is probably the best on the lake right now.

I'm gonna second both of these guys. The time is right. All I would do is run 10-15 spots I've noted over the years if they are there.....they are there....if not then I'll move along fast. All up the river.

TBH days spent cruising the lake watching will give a lot of these locations up.

I agree go to Truman or LOZ, very good crappie fishing. I will say this though, whenever I have caught a crappie at Table Rock it is always a very nice one. There are some really good ones swimming in the lake.

There are some good ones, I'll get one or two in the winter on a jerk bait and they are usually in the 13-15 inch range.  I have seen some pics of some real slabs being caught on upper Bull on guided trips that were caught on jerk baits.

I've got a couple locations at Baxter I catch just monsters in the Spring. I'm a master crappie guy for about 7 days a year. 

In September this year I caught some really nice ones. Also at Baxter, boat in 70' to 100' throwing Dixie Jet spoons at suspended shad schools, 30'. Crappie were right in the shad balls. 

Probably hard to repeat😆😆😋

When it gets real cold in flat creek they get off the brush and just roam out in open water on flats.  One day you will catch them and the next you wont.
