Members BassPastor Posted December 30, 2021 Members Posted December 30, 2021 Any hints on where to find the shallower crank bait bite? I’m a winter fishing novice and don’t have FF sonar so may try to grind out the shallow fish instead of looking for the deep bite.

Look for birds and throw a grub or keitech at them.
Fishrman Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Channel swings main lake is where I have been focusing must of my cranking. It's not a huge numbers deal usually but you can catch some decent fish.

Catch fish this time of year on a crank bait! Cover water and you will get your opportunities! Have a happy new year!
Members BassPastor Posted December 31, 2021 Members Posted December 31, 2021 @Fishrman @willyfish @Sprint21fter Had my 3 year old with me today so only fished for a couple hours but managed one nice keeper small jaw. Thanks for the tips and happy new year! nomolites, Smithvillesteve and Quillback 3
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 My little guy and i caught a few, and a lot of short fish. they were stacked up just not eating, even with minnows........played with a different color on livescope and it really filters out a lot of the "static" Anyone with livescope i recommend trying diffferent color options, the amber which is what you always see on advertisements sucks to me, but everyone has different eyes.
