BP at their Spring Classic has great deals on Panoptix, Garmin Packages. Still around 2 grand but if your looking at forward facing sonar, especially for crappie you might take a look.

I will tell you, Its old news and the reason its on sale is Garmin is coming out with new forward facing sonar.

Some Garmin field testers have it, with a 40 degree field if vision 150 ft. range and unbelievable definition on structure and fish.

Re- enhanced color gain and sensitivity gain for clear target and structure defination and total target separation.

From what I'm hearing its going to be $1,799.00 and will work on all the UHD SV and echomap units.

Boys there are going to be lots of livescopes for sale next year as the upgrades and forward facing units get better and better.

If I can buy somebodies sloppy seconds for a good enough price, I may have to hop on the FFS bus myself.

If you want me to message you when the upgrades begin to happen, I'll put you on the list.

I think y'all need to realize that these companies are plotting a strategy on consumers.   The military already has FFS that puts what is currently being made available to YOU, to shame.

Honestly, you're better off just cooling your jets and waiting.....Unless of course, you have money to burn and you just can't bear the thought that someone might have something better than you for a few months.

No matter what you do it will change every few months to a year.  That is what we do…planned obsolescence.

If you go on Garmins page and look at the specs the LVS34 (New) and the LVS32(Old) both only have the 20 degree beam.  I wish it was the 40 like was posted originally up above but it's only the 20 degree still.  Which really shows you where to cast but it honestly takes some serious practice in boat control and casting ability.  Some guys make it look EASY......trust me it's not.  But it's a ton of fun when it works out no doubt but if you haven't tried it and think it's cheating etc you haven't used it especially in current or windy situations because boat control is the #1 challenge with it.  I have had it for over a year and love it but admittedly I'm not good with it......yet, but it's a work in progress and alot of fun to use and play with.

I certainly agree that it takes effort and time. With Spotlock and the transducer on a separate Mount, I’m not seeing the boat control being an issue. Granted it’s gonna be easier with a 5 mph wind vs 25 mph. It takes a while for your brain to get that left to right is really front to back (or vice versa I can’t remember),

>Bill's post indicated maybe something was in the "near pipeline", with better angle, distance and resolution than the new LVS34. Planned obsolescence and dribbling out "improved" features is baked in the cake. And at a price point 100 bucks higher than LSV34,  may or may not be worth it, but I would like to see it. And sooner, rather than later.

There were credible rumblings about this last year. That's why I put a Garmin up front, but held off on the Live Scope.
