aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Soo much wind it was a tough day. Took a friend and even the Garmin spotlock is horrid, it was still better than nothing once i got it set in the right place. Water around 58 from Bport-Flatt creek-James. We didnt catch much in Flatt, mud and current were starting to move in, we fished up James from 15, we ended up with 19. We had a honey hole pile and a dude saw us catch 5 in a row, looked like he was bass fishing so i didnt give it a thought. Once it cooled down we wanted to give it a rest after being hung multiple times and catching a few. We Left Came back and we had a hole vulture sitting on it with his crappie gear.. The rudeness on the water was at a high in flat creek, i could have casted my 1/132 jig at some of these guys that drove buy on plane, or plowing. Im no gods gift to driving a boat but i try my best not to mess with people, if i see a lil jon tied up to a brush pile i always idle by just so i dont bang him around. Its pretty obvious who fishes and who is just down a couple times a year, i try my best not to hold it against people but they really dont know any better Quillback, grizwilson, bobby b. and 4 others 6 1
bobby b. Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Things have really changed over the last few years here at TR. I built my house here in 2006 and did not retire until 2016. Earlier I had bought a nice 15 acres on Truman for $17k and planned to build there as it was closer to my kids in the KC area but a friend introduced me to TR and over time I came to love it here. But since I retired in 2016 it seems like everything has changed. The pressure on this lake is unbelievable. Soimetimes I look on Zillow and think about moving to Truman or BS but I have a 12 year old that needs to stay here. vernon, mixermarkb, Quillback and 3 others 6

Of course every place changes over time, but it's been rapid and dramatic at TR. Still a great lake, still a lot of good local folks, so I try to focus on that. But Arkansas does look better every year. vernon, bobby b., Quillback and 1 other 4
Quillback Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Yeah I tell ya, the Mountain Home area is looking better all the time. Plus you've got some great trout fishing on top of being close to Bull and Norfolk. For right now I have reasons for staying where I am, but a few years down the road I may move on. nomolites, mixermarkb, bobby b. and 1 other 4

Mountain Home is a bit of a zoo, but there are some nice little places near it. We really liked Batesville last fall, although I'm not sure I'm ready to be a Greer's guy. Quillback 1

Area round Murfreesboro looks interesting - never have been there, but you've got DeGray, Blue Mountain, and Millwood relatively close. Winters are a bit warmer too than what you get up here near the MO border. dtrs5kprs 1

I was up to third in line where I wanted to fish after I got away from the snaggers. dtrs5kprs and Quillback 2

If you like to kayak, really nice rivers with great fishing. I live in Murfreesboro and it is quiet, simple life. Quillback and dtrs5kprs 2
Bill Babler Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Every weekend and I mean every weekend there are multiple large tournaments here. The problem is they never go home. Lots of folks stay after the derby and lots come and stay the week prefishing for the next weeks derby. Ramps start getting busy 1 hr. Prior to daylight and it never stops. Buster has been guiding Bull Shoals all Spring and says he sees very, very little fishing pressure and really no big or sport boats. Said thus far he is having one of the best Springs of his 20 plus year career. Fishing is fantastic no matter what species your looking for and you can fish where you want. Sounds like a plan. vernon, dtrs5kprs, Bassin4fun and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
