I have to say about half the time whoever is there just tells me to go ahead of them.   Of course the bad experiences stand out but we shouldn’t forget the good ones either👍

I almost always go early and there's never a problem getting in the water even if someone else is ahead of me, it's always fishermen early and we all want to get in the water and get to fishing.

The last hold-up I had was a couple of weeks ago on Beaver, a guy pulled in just before I got there, so I dropped the TM and did some fishing while waiting.  He backs in, then goes to his boat and starts dipping minnows out of the livewell with one of those little minnow dip nets and releases them into the lake.  Took the guy like 5 minutes to get them all, no big deal, actually thought it was kind of funny.

And I caught a smallmouth while waiting on Mr. Dipper.  Some of the ramps are worth fishing when you come in, at least on the lakes.  All that prop washing stirs up the silt and brings fish in.  You'd think it would spook them, but seems to have the opposite effect.

          Best attitude ever. I remember when I was at the learning stage and had folks waiting on me for one reason or another. Especially learning to back down long steep ramps. As far as piddling with equipment blocking the way it is aggravating but some people are just slow and it may happen to me again with age.  Back to the backing deal. I have seen people get really upset fighting that process. I have many times asked if I could help. Sure please, sometimes just telling them to not oversteer to the point I have been asked to get behind the wheel to help. Remember we were once there ourselves.

I did this at a big tournament on Table Rock a long time ago. I took over for a lady that was trying to back a trailer in while her husband was sitting in the boat screaming at her. When I got him loaded and up the ramp another lady walked over and handed me her keys. I did 5 or 6 in a row while my dad and his buddies made fun of me. But I did walk away with about 50 bucks too. 

I guess I've just never been in that big of a hurry to be a turd.

Yep I launched a few myself.  I did one at Taney with a big ole ski boat even after I asked if they knew the lake since the water was off.  They assured me they did so I backed it in.   Gladly they went down lake and not up....  I've trailered a couple jet boats in the river when the guys just couldn't do it in the current.   I get frustrated but never to the point of doing anything except wait or help.  Except I'm not putting sunscreen on another man though....😄

I don't get angry often, but a guy parked in a ramp waiting on friends that refuses to move when asked, would have made me angry.

I jumped into my buddies rig after dark last fall at one of the goofy divided Masters ramps.  He had dash lights turned up all the way, big screen tv lit up in middle, the backup camera.  Bright pole light up the hill.

And, tiny little mirrors and back heavy tinted windows on a smaller SUV with no moon out behind me on the lake.  I could not see a thing back there.  Night vision was totally wiped out.  It was the worse backing job I have ever done.

But, someone has to teach the guys on the ramp some ethics on how to make things flow smoothly.  If we don't, we will still have to keep dealing with the stupidity.  Until the banks take them back in a year.....

At launch ramps if i have a guy that has his own boat i always put him in the boat and i back my own truck. I always find it harder to back a strange truck down a busy launch ramp with unfamiliar mirrors than drive a boat

But most the time the guy gets in his boat and lets the buddy back his truck
