Fished with Dutch today, we mainly threw the Ned and a full Zinker on some Shroom heads with EWG hooks that Dutch makes, and which he generously gave me a good supply of them.

We had to hunt for fish, couldn't find any loaded banks, a one here and two there kind of day.  We had somewhere around 25 bass and a couple of short wallies.  Most of our bass were spots, and three of them were keepers.

The spots are getting that winter time fat look to them and are pulling pretty good, lots of fun on light tackle.

Fish were in the 10-25 foot range, cove mouths with trees and steep chunk rock banks.

I thought I was a Ned fisherman until today.  I got schooled and a good waxing today.  Thanks so much for the trip Jeff.

Getting humbled is probably the best way to learn IMO.  There are a few techniques that I feel I am really good at, but I know that there are better anglers than me that would out fish me 10 to 1 with the same lures.  As someone who generally fishes alone, I think there would be a lot to learn from fishing with someone like that.  Sounds like a fun time.

I think there are a lot of things to learn by fishing with anyone, even ones that don't humble you.

It's a 2-way street, I have learned some things from Dutch too.  Some days one guy gets more than the other, sure doesn't mean I am a better fisherman than anyone.  As a matter of fact, when we went a week or so ago, Dutch caught quite a few more than I did.  I learned somethings about fishing that full Zinker from watching him.

Got on em pretty good. I fished till 12:30 he finished the day and said they bit really good.

That's a beautiful largemouth. Look how healthy! Good indication there's a great forage base. Don't know how with all the pressure it gets, but our playground that God so generously gave us just keeps pumping them out year after year.
