trythisonemv Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Since the niangua as my fathers favorite river it seems fitting to speak here. The niangua river will always hold the most special place in my heart. The river where my father taught me to fish and swim and love nature. He was a great steward of this river and always left it cleaner than when he arrived. He picked up trash and cans and fishing line each and very trip. The river mustve known that because it provided our family with fresh fish and the odd floating candy bar or soda frequently. We will miss my father dearly but we will see his smile reflected in the calming flow of his favorite place on earth. We will hear his voice echo through the hills and valleys from windyville all the way to tunnel dam and on to lake of the ozarks. We will hold his hand every night when the fireflies light up the river bank as we walk out of the stream. I will forever remember him in his fishing vest tracker hat and a black tee shirt tying my hook on for me as i looked up in admiration. BilletHead Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks Alex, That was a very nice tribute to you father. They say the nut doesn't fall far from the tree. I am sure you have some of your dads ethics installed in you. Hopefully we can fish together some day. Johnsfolly Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Such a great tribute to you father. I am sure that he was just as proud of you as you were of him. Just reading through made me think about the times I would spend with my father. Even better than my personal memories are when my kids reminisce about the times that they spent with him. That is the legacies that we want to leave from this world. Keep making those memories. Daryk Campbell Sr, trythisonemv and dpitt 2 1
