Peepers have alerted spring more reliably for me than any other sign.

The Robins on our place are INSANE this week.  Never seen this many anywhere.

They will never look up through ice thicker than a window pane is how I learned it back when I was still learning about spring.

Old timers said peepers would get frozen 3 times before spring.  Skunks, peepers, and an armadillo the other day.
