Nice bird Marty!  I know nothing about turkey weight, is a 21 lber. a good one?

I’ve never weighed wild turkeys but I imagine that it is a big one.  When I raised them 25# was the target weight for the toms.  And they got all they wanted to eat and drink without climbing around in the hills.

Pretty much what Dutch said. There are reports of 25 and above every year. I know I carried him part way home and he felt like a ton. Said to myself screw this sat him down, my gun, decoy, vest and walked back home for the ATV.  Im not the beast I used to me packing stuff. More to the story.  I shot the bird and claimed my prize. Went to my pocket for phone to text Pat to let her know I was alive. Call me oneshot jr I suppose she worries about me. It's a good thing I know. Nothing there I had ripped my cargo pocket on pants. I began to scramble as I put it on silent when hunting. Backtracked a few times. After dressing the bird, I  went back did the route it two more times and found it in the pasture where I shot the bird. Darned lucky.
