My point was that this level of distrust and paranoia that many have, didn't just come from nowhere. It's 90% justifiable for the most part. Do you not agree? Give examples of distrust and paranoia that "many" have? Seems like a little self-projection here on your part, . . . .and I sure as heck don't understand the connection you are trying to make to the EBS. Nick Adams 1
Nick Adams Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 It's no different than the TV/Radio tests we grew up with. Except that now most people younger than us don't watch TV or listen to radio. They stream it all via their phones. Then did the same test in 2018. And they need to practice so they don't tell Hawaii and N Korean nukes are inbound again or used to actually communicate to a community and dangers (again like the Hawaii wildfires) are on the way. Frankly, the distrust comes from people buying into BS conspiracy theories, which are incredibly easy to avoid.
ollie Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I can relate. Have a friend that completely believed it was some sort of government secret thing going on to spy on all of us. Never mind that they can ping your cell phone at any given time and probably find you, but hey what do I know. I do know that a lot of people get paranoid like wrench said when something like this comes up. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Ryan Miloshewski Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I am not paranoid nor do I care about the test, but I generally despise the government. There are too many real examples of the Feds lying to or keeping things from the citizenry. MKULTRA and all of its sub-categories, aliens, Gulf of Tonkin, Project Sunshine, WMDs, Operation Paperclip, crack/war on drugs, etc. The list goes on an on. And you think they aren't still doing this type of stuff? Please. The QANON/ANTIFA stuff is wild and totally bats**t. But when the bootlickin, government lovers call everybody crazy just remember it's only crazy right now. MOPanfisher Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I want to be a conspiracy theorist, but firmly believe that the Government is incapable of doing anything and keeping it secret for very long. Terrierman 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 6, 2023 Root Admin Posted October 6, 2023 I turned my phone off, just so mine wasn't dinging with the others. I was in a CAM meeting. But then after I turned mine back on - they got me.
tjm Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I always wondered about those EBS tests on radio and TV and this no different, who are they broadcasting to? you know that any emergency action by government or military will be done in secret "need to know" just as it always has been and if there was a real emergency who would have power to run the TV to hear the broadcast?
