Maverickpro201 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Had a Special MRI for the prostate last Friday, because PSA had jumped from blood work from regular Dr.. MRI was ordered after I saw the Urologist. It came back with 1 area very highly cancer, 1 area highly likely cancer and 1 area medium likely possible. Go in Tuesday for Biopsy now. Then we will discuss treatments and probably a petscan to make sure has not spread outside the prostate. Rather than treatments, I am considering seriously about just having it removed. So in order for me to make my decision, has anyone here had it removed? What was your recovery time? Have you had any other issues? If you prefer to answer personally with a PM, I would understand and would keep it between you and me. Just trying to get ahead of it. Reason I am thinking removal is it cannot come back later. What is your thinking? Iknow this is going to screw with my fishing season now because I also just had shoulder surgery 4 weeks ago Thanks

Quillback Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I have not had any issues with the prostate so far, so I don't have any advice. But whatever route you take, you have my best wishes for a good recovery! David Unnerstall 1
BilletHead Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Nothing but Prayers heading out from here for you. I don't have anything to add but My Doctor really watches those numbers each year on bloodwork. ness Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Good buddy of mine had his prostrate removed and I think he’s glad he did it when he did. His wife thanked it for its service on Facebook, which he was less glad about 😀 BilletHead, Terrierman, Mitch f and 1 other 3 1 John
oneshot 1 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Ok had mine removed never could gain control of my Peeing so they put a Valve in. Well Valve is better but still have some trouble so still wear throw away underwear. Had to have Radiation for awhile. Then started passing Blood. Had to be put in a Decompression Chamber for 2 hours every day. Now I'm on Hormone Shots because my PSA is up. Other than that can't have sex. No biggie because I haven't had sex for years. Found it best to set down and pee. Oh yea getting books and have Hot Flashes. I know I'm all Flowers and Rose's. oneshot

Gavin Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Get on with it. It’s a common procedure, and most who have the procedure are 100% in a short time. Make sure you’re NOT using oneshots healthcare provider. Siteman in STL does a great job. Best to you. MOPanfisher, BilletHead and Nick Adams 2 1
