I like to come to this site to ask you boys about outdoor gear. You boys have been very helpful thru the years. I need a new battery charger and a new filet knife. I just bought a new Mister Twister knife and the blades were just awful. Tried to filet up a walleye the other day and it would barely cut. My old battery charger sat in water the other day and i think it toasted it. It was a cheap charger from Harbor Freight that had 2 amp, 10 amp and 50 amp settings on it. Thanks boys for any input.

I have had a number of different electric fillet knives, Rapala, Mister Twister, Bubba, ect. and my all time favorite is an old American Angler bought at Walmart, that I've had for over 20 years.   I force myself to use the Bubba now because I paid so much for it.....and it's cordless, but I actually like the old battle-axe American Angler the best.

Battery chargers?   I go through them like toilet paper.   Sealed onboard chargers are the WORST.  Schumacher vented portable chargers last longer than anything else I've had.

Never paid for a fillet knife ever. I guess when people find out I'm a C&R guy they send me one thinking I will convert? Seriously though, I do have several I have never used, but just hung on to them.

I still use the ol' manual fillet knife.  That being said, an electric knife in great when you're looking at 50 bluegill to fillet.

I see they now have rechargeable lithium knives.  They ain't cheap.

I am a fillet knife junkie. For the fixed blade just get one with good steel. As far as electric ones go I have a rapala lithium ion rechargeable. I love it. Inhearaded it when a fishing buddy passed. This being said there are some neat videos one YouTube that do side by side comparison tests. Very eye opening. I think you should watch a few of those.

For a corded knife the American Angler can’t be beat, but they are pricy now as I replaced my original a year or two ago(motor burned up after after thousands of fish).  I have the Rapala lithium cordless with the multiple length blades and two batteries for travel and it is an excellent knife, both in battery life and cutting performance.

I currently have a NOCO Geniusonboard charger that has been OK, I had a lot of problems with the previous unit(promariner).

Like Marty and Mike I have the Rapala lithium knife.  When it works it works good, however, I don’t get much life from the batteries.  I’ve had 2 of them.  The first one got a blade hung in it and no one could get it out.
