I was able to fish my local pond and got 4 crappie.   I believe they are white crappie,  although the bars are not extremely evident. They were all on a fly/jig given to me by @JUNGLE JIM 1 Good start to 2025.  Interesting topic, Y2K was 25 years ago.

This is the fly/jig, im honestly not sure what it would fall under.  It's an ultra light weight jighead but tied in a fly fashion.  He does good work.

Good deal! I would agree White Crappie. I still haven’t gotten a White Crappie on fly this year.

                        Way to go Daryk,

It was a good day to start your count. You are right on Jim's jigs. Nice clean heads and color patterns. Fish catchers. I have some of them.  Very creative in material use. Any of you waterfowlers out there he likes and can use some gadwall flank. I had been pretty good keeping him in some of those feathers. I don't know what is going on but have not shot a gadwall this season or the last one.

Nice job Daryk! They all look like white crappie to me as well. I usually count the dorsal spines to id since the barring can be subjective on some fish (e.g., breeding males). Whites typically have 5 to 6 dorsal spines and blacks have 8 or more.
