Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 19 Root Admin Posted August 19 We bought our neighbor - Ozark Trout Resort. 12 units and a dock. A slanted swimming pool :). We're reminded of our first days at Rosadaro Resort in May, 1983. Rooms aren't too bad, just needs a lot of updating,,, and cleaning! I'm headed out to weed eat right now. The biggest need for us is parking... we pick up quite a bit of that. Plus it's going to be easiest building the new shop too. Hopefully we'll start on it this fall. nomolites, ness, grizwilson and 18 others 21
Travis Swift Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I think it's great and I'm sure she was happy to see it go to you as you will take great care of the place. The next resort down sold recently as well and appears it's undergoing a big change also. That whole area will be updated and looking great soon I bet. Congrats again! Ryan Miloshewski Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Really looking forward to it. I am not being biased when I say your place (and the people) is the best fishing resort I have ever been to in the country. I find myself wanting other places to have the same feel, care, and facilities as yours. And you all building the shop will be awesome. Darin filled me in on the plans and it sure will be nice! Not having a fly shop in KC anymore worth a darn is really a bummer. Monday Darin ordered some stuff I will certainly buy, and you all get it to me within three days almost every time. That's huge. dpitt, trythisonemv and slabseeker 3 “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold

Lazy is to become a different kind of place. They're gutting all the rooms and making them fancy... I can't remember what you call it. It might be run as a VIRBO. It doesn't sound like it's going to be a fishing resort.

I think it’s a mistake to not cater to fisherman. That pretty much is going to only leave 2 now. Good for you guys no doubt but just kinda sad after growing up and seeing them all on the lake all those years. Glad you guys are hanging in there and even expanding. Like Milo I like having the shop also. Got some stuff coming this week as a mater of fact that I can’t find anywhere else now ! crazy4fishin, snagged in outlet 3 and Phil Lilley 3

I love the old fishin' cabin feel but definitely see the need for updating & modernizing. Lilley's does it right. Congrats Phil. We just stayed at Lazy Valley this past weekend as we needed three rooms Lilley's only had two. I thought it was great. A bit dated but clean and I loved the wood & trout border on the walls, the old stove, table, etc. They did tell me they plan on still having the fishing cabin feel just updated. When we were leaving they were starting on the rooms by ours and I could see them putting tongue & groove wood on the walls so maybe it will be Ok.

There's plenty of demand for more fishing resorts on this lake. I think it's sad too that so many have gone away. crazy4fishin 1
