  1. This is probably one of the bigger circuits in Missouri for the bigger lakes: Home - Mo-Yak Fishing Series
  2. Mother earth is going to take back what is rightfully hers. Let it be what it is. Floods happen, why waste all the money and time to recreate something that is unnatural in the first place, only to be possibly destroyed by another flood.
  3. My last fish of 2020 is this 2lb bass came on Dec 23 caught on a yellow and green mepps with a Zebco 181 reel on an old Shakespeare fiberglass pistol grip rod my FIL had laying around (I forgot my gear with the Christmas packing madness). Pond froze up after that and couldn’t get another line wet while we were there
  4. I have an Ocean Kayak and it actually has a cutout in the hull at the bottom of one of the scupper holes big enough for the transducer my small kayak fish finder I have uses. Then I bought a Lowrance scupper hole transducer mounting kit. Works pretty well. https://www.austinkayak.com/Lowrance-Kayak-Scupper-Transducer-Mount-2021/ACK8561P.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping: ACK PLA&scid=scplp8561_2356_1#
  5. My goal sounds like a skipping record: To actually get out and fish more. Seems anymore all my time is taken by an 8 year old’s soccer practices and games and the rest by a 2 year old. Somewhere in there I need to find some time to fish.
  6. And Saturn isn't round like Jupiter. I thought in my pictures it was jiggle from the wind but it's the rings that makes it look not round.
  7. I'm in quarantine from work until next Monday. Boss came to work with it and exposed our whole department. I got tested and was negative, but I still have to quarantine from work. My boss and her husband aren't handling it well but they didn't need to hopsitalize.
  8. This is about as good as I could get of Saturn and Jupiter last night. This was on a tripod with my 270mm zoom lens with about a second of exposure. Any more exposure and the wind made the tripod jiggle and I got squiggly lines.
  9. Think of the shadows as being the part the sonar can't see behind the fish because the beam goes out, bounces off the fish and bounces back to the transducer, so in essence it is a shadow, just from electromagnetic sonar waves and not from light.
  10. Still have to get the fish to bite.
  11. Asian Carp have destroyed it
  12. Looks like fun to me! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7LrrXeH0qE
  13. I see it now. Looks like it's sold out unfortunately.
  14. Is that with or without a transducer? If it's with, that's a deal that can't be beat.

    Whatchya Drinking?

I've dipped into some bourbon sipping lately. Had a taste of some Blanton's, Weller, and Elmer T. Lee my friend sent me samples of and got me looking into some cheaper alternatives. Did some research and found a bunch of the bourbon snobs on YouTube for the most part say Wild Turkey 101 is an amazing whiskey. In college, I had it and thought it was awful. My taste buds have matured. It's great to sip and also to mix with some Coke. It's what I've been drinking, and it's very affordable at $33 for the big bottle at Sams.
  16. It makes absolutely no sense on how the two diseases spread. One tick isn't going to spread Lyme disease or RMSF to more than one person. Put it this way, for 10 people to get Lyme disease or RMSF, there has to be 10 ticks since ticks die shortly after they fall off and won't bite twice. For 10 people to get COVID19, there only has to be 1 person that has it to give it to the rest. And then those 10 people can spread it to 10 more people each for 100 people, and those 100 people can spread it to 10 more each for 1000 people, etc. It really is apples to oranges. The only similarity is if you walk into the woods that contains no ticks you won't get a tick bite. Same as if you walk into a store and no one inside isn't infected with COVID19 you aren't going to get COVID19.
  17. Line-X is a far superior material.
  18. I think the poor oral hygiene has a lot more to do with it than the masks do. Kids are home with a lot of schools closed, especially in New York where the dentists who have claimed the masks cause tooth decay are from, and their parents most likely aren't there to tell them to brush their teeth.

I guess I never posted mine up in this old thread. 21 1/2" out of a river not far from St Louis. Weighed 4lbs 7oz.
  21. I like the repurposing of the turkey house to use as the motor pool garage.
  22. That's a monster flathead!
  23. Google maps shows 40 to 65 being 5 hours and 8 minutes and 64 to 65 being 5 hours and 4 minutes. Difference in mileage is about 37 miles less taking the latter. Looks like 64 is a 2 lane highway for most of it. and there's several towns it goes through that could slow things down.
  24. Isn't his transducer facing the wrong way? Shouldn't the wire be towards the front of the boat? Or maybe it doesn't really matter?
  25. Um, they have some interesting looking spoons for sale. At least they gave them an interesting name "Richard Spoon" Their jointed swimbaits look nice and with the sale look to be a pretty good deal.
