Serie Finales are a guilty pleasure for me. Especially when they have great callbacks. The one that still gets me is when Sam says "were closed" at the end of Cheers.

I enjoy this thread. Maybe, no one is incorrect, and there is a problem with the lake, or habitat. Discussions like this are what get things moving. I appreciate the input from everyone. I "learned" a few things.

I will be leaving from the St Louis area if anyone would like to ride down. I have a mini van, plenty of room.

Count me in. Either works for me. Late Friday arrival. Need a boat seat if one is available.

Somewhere in Wayne County
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Daryk Campbell Sr's topic in Other Ozark Waters
Honestly, I was hoping you would identify that for me. Believe it or not, one guy tried telling me it was a perch. I disagreed, but he said to verify it with the fishing merit badge counselor. I didn't bother. It really was. I had to do some creative bushwacking to stay out of the water. (I have a medical condition that keeps me out). The fish wanted it brought in fast and quickly shaken. A wise man on here once said, you should never allow the fish to see what the bait is made of. Keep it moving. (Paraphrase) Thanks Ron Krueger, it worked for me. -

Had an opportunity to fish while the Boys took a float trip. Nothing of size, but a fun day of fishing none the less. All were on the top water spook jr.

Best theory yet.

Access points, seasons, land use to name a few. I am not able to give specific answers about when, where who, how etc. I dont go out and dig on that. I do know that I have talked to people about areas and visited some myself that were available and no longer are because people dont follow rules. Are some rules goofy? Sure. But to openly violate a rule and post it online. I don't recomend it.

While I understand your question and problem. I just can't stay silent on this issue. Not obeying the rules is why we have lost so many privileges as fishermen. If you can't obey the rules for whatever reason, you should not attend. That is my 2cents.

I'm sponsored by Cabela's if that holds true. I got a free hat for signing up for a credit card. I use it when I mow. (Hat, not the card. ) -
Extreme low water fishing was a success
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to chucknduck's topic in Other Ozark Waters
My sons and I did that with a pool of gar one day. He still talks about it, and it's been 4 or 5 years. He's 12 now. -
Second day in a row fishing. Fun stuff. I fished the same stream just a really different section. I didn't get out as early as planned. Made my way to the location about 10ish. I was more successful today than I was yesterday. Not nearly as clear of water, but I caught a few different species. One I am not sure of at all. Please help me ID this. It has a black tail as seen from above. I have posted them before, but I caught one today. I have always called them cruisers. It gave a decent fight, and bit on the spook jr. Also got these today: I accidentally selected video on the phone instead of camera on this one.

I have been wanting to fish for quite a while now. There is a stream local to me that I have been wanting to get on. The spring time had many floods and high waters. I have a health condition that keeps me out of "dirty" water. I attract infection. This water is very shallow and since @drew03cmc posted his top water success, I decided now was my time to visit said stream. It was clear, and shallow. I did no ot have any top water lures in my van with my tackle. So I used a crank bait,( shallow diver orange craw) very slow to start. A couple looks, partial follows, and that was it. I put on a Rick Clunn shad shallow diver. Caught a small Kentucky. Nothing else. I moved on down, and tried with no success. Seen a couple just below a riffle, targeted them, my first smallie. (Again). Nothing of size, and to be honest not much fight. I hung up, lost a lure, put on a rooster tail. That's what I got the smallie on. Seen a couple small Walters. It was getting darker quickly but I wanted to keep going. My wife and daughter are at camp, and my son is staying at a friend's house. I can stay out as long as I want, aside from the park where my van is, closes at dusk. I managed one more, another green fish. It was larger yet. Gonna get up early, if no rain, I have another spot in mind.

Please explain the gorilla tape and pool floaty. Seems self explanatory, but I like life hacks. I do hope someone is there to help when you are in need.

Jim, I appreciate your updates. This was my "home pond" as a kid/teenager. I was very impressed with the color of it a few years ago vs when I fished it regularly.
-
Just wanted to see if anyone has one laying around. I can buy one new, but I'm looking for a deal. I want a foot controlled motor 45 lbs or above.
-
Kind of hard to nail it down. Maybe as John said, next time put it in a tank so the fins are extended. We may be able to identify it then. Preliminary results are Southern Hog Sucker.

Catch a State Record Fish? Then What?
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
I am fishing for me. I have no idea what records there are, really don't think I care. I would definitely want to measure, and photograph my large catches, but again, that's for me. I will be happy to brag, and the picture would be proof. When I was a kid, there was a commercial with two old men in a boat on a lake. They were fishing for "Bubba", he seemed to be the legend of the lake. At the end of the commercial one was hooked on a fish that was towing the boat across the lake while one of the men were yelling "BUBB-AAAAAA!!". Am have spent my fishing life looking for Bubba. I hope to never find him. I love seeing people catch and record their catches, I love seeing the records broken. It is just not for me. -
It ended exactly the way you thought it would. Was a decent movie, but yes spread out of more than it should have. Oak island, I left it a few years ago, and from what I understand, it still is in the same shape.
